Have you had any trouble with removing the lid which seems to be stuck

Just to add to this question for any current buyers, there is an L shaped grove in the lid on each side. So just twist the lid counter-clockwise and lift to open, as you would with any twist lid. It was quite easy on the one I received.

I'm setting up an activity for a toddler. Do you think art pipe cleaners (fuzzy covered wire) would easily fit in the holes of this shaker please?

I do not believe so, the holes are quite small and I am not aware of the size of the pipe cleaner

Which type of shaker is best for shaking chocolate over cappuccino stencil, the fine mesh or medium hole?

I would go for fine mesh as i have used it and its really good for stenciling on sourdough bread as well as coffee. You need a good stencil and a steady hand.
