i wonder how stable this is in a strong wind, etc?

The suction cups seem to be quite good. My box has been up about 2 months and no sign of movement, however, it is in a sheltered position. Be aware that it is small and lightweight!!

Are you supposed to pierce the plastic packaging....no birds have come near the feeder.

You have to remove all packaging so they can eat the food on the tray . also it takes time for them to get used to it . start by feeding then on the ground maybe meal worms ect but keep some in the tray . they will get the message . There is always one bird braver than the others .. good luck ..

The measurements given are 15 x 15 x 6cm depth, does this mean 15 cm, if so it's a very small feeder !

Yes that sounds about right. It's for small birds, robins, tits etc. If it was any bigger it would be too heavy for the suction pads to hold it on the window.
