C01 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

Had one of these before. Great quality and sound at a affordable price.

Absolutely brilliant sounding condenser mic. Definitely a bargain for the price. Samson in general make some really good mics for really cheap prices, so I would recommend them to anyone who's recording on a budget. If I had to say anything as a downside, the microphone only comes with a regular clip, so you'd need to buy a shock mount separately. Also the microphone is cardioid, so both sides are always picking up sound. Just make sure you are recording in a place that has good acoustics or a room with acoustic treatment.

A good mic for the money. I have a variety of mics for different applications and this condenser will be used primarily for acoustic instruments. I haven't tried the Samson on vocals yet, but it could work. Thus far I have found the mic to be a little brittle on the top end, easy to EQ out the brittleness but not quite the point. At this price point the Samson is a good and usable mic, there are of course many more expensive options out there, but you pay your money and make your choices.

considering this item is pretty cheap compared to more high end models it still captures, for me, very loud music with very impressive qaulity. at the moment I use this as the mic for my bass drum and it gives smooth bass no thudding or distortion is ever given off. I would highly recommend this for any beginner to intermediate sound recordist. In my opinion any professional would probably be better off spending a bit more and getting a top end mic but for anyone else this is more than good enough.

My friend has this microphone and it sounds crisp and clear and can definitely be used as a streaming or even podcast microphone, however the MOST IMPORTANT thing to understand is that if you do not have a good soundcard then it will not sound much better than your previous/current mic. I have an integrated sound card on my motherboard and my friend has an external one, other than that everything is the exact same, yet the sound quality of his microphone was 100x better than mine, in fact this microphone sounded even worse than my old cheap xlr microphone due to a bad soundcard.

Considering the £50 price, this microphone is amazing. The clarity is excellent and there really isn't anything I can pull it up on. Obviously for more money you can get better quality but this mic is perfect for anyone who is just starting out with music recording or youtube etc. I would recommend this to anyone, pro and new to recording, that needs to keep to a tight budget.

I got this mic because I heard such good reviews about it. I looked on you tube as well. Before I was using a normal mic so I was interested to see the difference. I can say that the quality is very clear and better that a normal mic. I will add though that you will need phantom power to operate it. Most Behringer mixers already have this. If you mixer does not you will need to purchase a phantom power adapter. By the way the large mic muffler from Amazon does fit the mic.

This microphone is brilliant for the money! I now have two Samson microphones this and the Samson USB mic go and both are fantastic for somebody on a budget. There are a fair few reviewers that rate this mic well on YouTube which mainly got me looking for one of these mics. Channels like podcastage and recording revolution brought my attention to this mic and I don't regret buying it. It works well for vocals and acoustic guitars but It can be applied to most instruments!

I'm so happy with this mic, considering the price and some of the other reviews that were really nit picky! It picks up a clear and I feel accurate sound. Love the carrying case to keep it clean and safe when not in use. The body feels solid and the mount is a sturdy metal.

Make no mistake, this microphone is not going to compare to a U47 or a 414, but, for the price, it gets five stars! First, the packaging is quiet secure. You get the microphone inside a hard case, inside a retail box, inside the Amazon box with expected package insulation materials. Next, the overall construction of the microphone is very sturdy. For the price, I was expecting a cheap plastic "toy" like feel and that's not what you get. This thing has some girth behind it and it's not something you'd want to smack the drummer with because it might actually hurt! I ordered this as a distant room/ambiance microphone and it's really good for that. You get clear sound, almost no noise and a very wide response range. I've also used it for a guitar and it sounds good and vocals are very clear. Although, if you are using it for vocals, use a 57 as well so you get the bottom end! That's the only drawback is that down in the real low end, say less than 200Hz, it gets just a little muddy. It still gets five stars because it's so good in other areas. I'd recommend using a 57 along with in. Yes, I know you could put an EQ on it and a bit of expander, but why not ingest the sound as cleanly as possible and do that much less post production on it later. As I said, it's not a U47, but, if you're the kind of recording place that really needs to limit the cost to a sub $200 microphone, then get one of these and a SM57 and you'll be glad you did!

This is my first studio condenser microphone for home studio recording. I really like the material used. Very durable and nice design. I didnt try it yet, as I am still waiting for my audio interface. I watched lots of reviews and videos on youtube about this microophone and decided to invest on SAMSON C01 condenser microphone.

Es un buen micrófono, con buen peso y una excelente presentación (viene con su cajita protectora, lo que le da un enorme plus). Me gusta y es, a mi juicio, una muy buena compra. Como único punto de debate (algo que me llamó la atención) es que, aunque las grabaciones dan muy buen resultado, resulta notablemente menos sensible que un micrófono Krieg de las mismas características. No es que me disguste en lo absoluto, pero me llama la atención. Al final usaré ambos micrófonos para distintos tipos de grabación. Ampliamente recomendable.
