NOT AS GOOD AS THE GOLD AND NOT REALLY CHROME BUT A GOOD PRODUCT.
I bought this on the strength of how good this makers ‘Gold’ version is, which I purchased after reading the superb reviews on it, and it is a great product. Until deciding to give the ‘Chrome’ a try I have used a car spray paint which is sold as Aluminium, I have used that product for at least 10 years and it is superb. To try and produce a genuine ‘Chrome’ spray is a tall order and this product does not get there. In my view it is only about 10% more ‘Chrome’ than the Aluminium I use. It is still an excellent product with a great finish and good coverage and the spray nozzle as with the Gold version is quite good but I do find it discharges a bit too quickly for spraying small items and ‘floods’ the surface a bit but that maybe necessary due to the metallic content, the car versions are more controllable. I think labelling it as Chrome is not really that accurate.

Just what I needed
Just what I wanted. Yes, it’s not as shiny as on the lid, but I didn’t want it to look like stainless steel. It’s a lovely muted grey colour and looks modern. Easy to use and a lovely finish. I used it to spray paint my old black door handles. Would buy again

Very good spray but not shiny chrome, more like satin silver or satin nickel
Not exactly shiny metallic chrome, far more like Satin silver or satin nickel but still a lovely colour and actually preferable for my needs. Made all my brass fittings look much more modern. Very easy to use. Just make sure you wipe down the items you will be spraying first, as you don't want dust on your item as those bits. This worked perfect straight on brass with no need for a primer (for me at least). Did it 3 times every 15 minutes over an hour just a quick spray each time, and then left overnight, and did one last time, waited 24 hours and perfect. A little colour came off in my hands first time I used, but then I worked out that if you use a wet paper towel just once (after a 24 hour wait) to give a one last wipe before using, colour does not come off at all anymore. Give it a go if you wish to change some items, great product and fun to see my items change. This lasted me fine for 10 door handles (put the items close to each other on a cardboard box and do them all together) and still have a little more in the can. Finally, I know what it’s like to feel indecisive when buying or comparing products, so If you found my review helpful please mark it as such, as I really enjoy knowing my reviews helped other people make an informed decision.

Silver Coins!
In my role as chief prop-maker for my Son's primary school I'm often called on to create odd things. This was no exception as I was asked if I could knock up some wooden coins. The coins were easy, I simply turned some 2"x2" on my lathe and cut them to size on my band saw... but what to paint them with? The story being told was on of Jesus being betrayed by Judas, so of course I needed silver. I've tried Silver paint before and found that it never dry's. No matter how long you leave it you find the paint coming off onto your fingers. That was NOT the case here. I sprayed my coins, I baked them under a heat lamp for 30 minutes and then I applied a coat of (spray) varnish. Once the varnish had dried I gave the wood a gentle sanding and then repeated the whole process. The results were excellent and I can safely recommend this paint as a consequence.

Easy to use, on smooth metal surfaces I got a chrome look
Easy to use even for a novice. I also bought the adhesive spray as in description it recommends this for durability. Effects: if using on smooth metal surface it looks very shiny, similar to chrome. If using on rougher surface or plastic it was more silver than chrome. 1st coat looks silver, let dry which is 20 mins for touch dry then put another coat on and that’s when (depending on surface type) it looks more chrome. Comes of skin fairly easy and if wipes straight away, surfaces too. I used this outside and protect floor area around project

Fine
It covered well and was more like a matt silver. Pleased with it.

Great product but not a true chrome finish.
It’s important to know that if you’re looking fir a true Chrome finish you won’t get it with this spray. The end result is a powder coat finish, it is silver but has a matt finish. As far as i’m aware if your looking for a true, shiny reflective chrome you won’t get it in a spray, the item will have to be electroplated & dipped. Its amazing what you can get done these days & there are places that can do it but you gotta decide if the cost is worth it. Having said all that, Rustoleum is a great brand and the end result is exceptional, if you follow the instructions. I’m very happy with the end result.
