as heavy as is needed. Smooth on the hands and tough on the carpets. Good product.

Does what it does well
Very sturdy and solid. Chrome plating has taken a hit and won't last much longer though, but that doesn't really matter to be honest. Great for the price.

Surprisingly good quality for the price!
Arrived a day early and seems like a decent quality product. Has a good weight to it and I’m sure will last. The only question is will the chrome finish on it last?, only time will tell i suppose!

Worked really well for me
I bought this item plus a Kenley Pro Carpet Stretcher Knee Kicker to lay a 4m x 6m 80% wool carpet over 12 mm underlay. I googled around to find the best gap to leave between the gripper rod and skirting board - it depends on how long the pile is but for my fairly short pile carpet after a bit of testing 9 mm worked well. I used a bit of 9 mm MDF to control the gap as I nailed down the gripper. With the gap right the bolster pushes the carpet down tightly and neatly with just a few taps from a normal hammer. No problems with chrome flaking off. The whole job took me about 7 hours which I reckon is not bad for a diy effort but about 7 times as long as a professional fitter! Very happy with the end result.

A very funky object AND it works!!
That's it really, it does what it says and works well to tightes carpets back. In addition, it has prompted interest and admiration from those who have seen it but not known what it was - a coffee table alternative.
