These are truly amazing. I am a Remington straighteners fan, having owned my last pair for a couple of years. Before that I had used GHD's and they never gave me the results that Remington straighteners have. I have very thick, wavy hair which reacts to any changes in weather - humidity being the worst one. GHD's would straighten the hair ok, but it never stayed straight. When they broke, I didn't want to spend a massive amount of money on a new pair and so looked towards Remington. At that point in 2013 I purchased the Moroccan Oil Therapy Shine Remington straighteners. They were and still are brilliant. However, they were becoming a little old and weary from every day use for the past couple of years and so I looked for a new pair. I chose these straighteners due to their wider plates – W 4.5cm x L 11cm. Whilst my hair is just above my shoulder, it is very thick and takes a while to get right. These straighteners feature 'Ceramic ultra' plates for smooth styling, even heat distribution and preventing snagging and hair breakage and this definitely shows. They a have a digital display; temperature can be turned up or down using the very simple - and + buttons on the side. They heat up to 230 degrees, which is the temperature I use, and they made light work of my hair. However, the lowest temperature is 150 degrees, and this then goes up in increments of 10. I’d say the thicker and more stubborn the hair, the higher temp you are going to want. They are very, very smooth going through my hair with no snagging or pulling. I thought they wouldn't be able to get close to my roots due to the size of the plates but they are fine. Heating time varies depending on the temperature that you select; for 230 degrees it takes around 50 seconds to get to full heat. The digital display will flash until they are full heated, with it then remaining constantly blue whilst they are on. The straighteners are turned off and on using the power button BUT if you do forget to turn them off, they have an auto shut off function. The cord is nice and long and the swivel allows for easy use with no restrictions. The straighteners are supplied with a Velcro fastening heat resistant but this is literally just the size of the straighteners. I use a bigger one, which is a couple of pounds off Amazon. The results on my hair are, as expected based on my previous experience with Remington straighteners, fantastic. Very, very smooth and straight hair, which lasts all day. Straightening time is fast and smooth due to the wider plates. I’m very impressed and this just reiterates my view that the most expensive isn’t always the best and these wide plate Remington straighteners are far superior to the more expensive wide plate GHD’s. The combination of these straighteners and serum is fantastic, and I would recommend for all over soft, frizz free, gorgeous smelling hair.

A really great hair straightener that works very well and it is great to be able to control the temperature that suits your hair. plenty of wire and cable length to use when plugged in and easy to take with you and durable too. Definitely recommend these as they do the job really well and a great value price too.

Having used this for over 2 months now, I can say confidently that this is a very good straightener that is affordable and almost on par as those of high end brands (such as GHDs). I have long, thick, excessively voluminous hair which took at least an hour to straighten using my old pair of straighteners (highstreet brand). However, the wide plate of this Remington S5525 straightener allowed me to straighten my hair in no time! Plus, although it may not heat up as quickly as a pair of GHDs, it still heats up very quickly - only about a few seconds difference. The price of this product is also very good for its quality. Unfortunately, I had to knock off a start as there was a manufacturing fault and had to have a replacement sent to me in exchange for the faulty pair. (The Fault: The straightener stopped working completely soon after plugging it in and switching it on) However, the replacement was sent to me the next day by Amazon and they allowed me plenty of time to return the faulty item. I have had no problems with the replacement pair and I think I was just simply unlucky about the first faulty pair. Otherwise, it's a great product and I highly recommend it.

Wanted a new pair of wide plate straighteners to replace my cloud nines. My hair is naturally curly, thick and just below my shoulder and so I’m a bit of a straightening irons aficionado! I had thinner plates before. Previously needed to section and the whole process took too long. With these I discovered I now don’t need to section to get a decent finish and it’s a revelation! Of course sectioning does do a perfect job, but for day to day, they work fine just running over without sectioning. These are definitely more effective than my cloud nine (though I haven’t tested most up to date version of those admittedly) and for a fraction of the price. Heat up within 30 seconds, variable heat control, long cord, Matt finish (so finger marks visible but not an issue for me), no dragging.

I wanted some new hair straighteners so after ready the reviews on the Remington ones I ask my husband to order me a pair The delivery was the next day OMG there absolutely fantastic best straighteners i have had and I’ve had many good brands but these blow them out of the market There light heat up fast and easy to work They leave your hair straight and shinny and do not pull or snag your hair I have long fine hair but you can control the heat setting to wot you want Job done in half the time as my old straighteners They come in a nice box with a heat sleeve to put your straighteners on when you have finished or to put them in the sleeve for travel Would highly recommend and would buy these again 5star product thanks Remington and Amazon Very happy with these

This hair straightener is of excellent quality, lightweight, quick to heat, and safe to use without burning my hands. It also includes a fabric coat for the straightener, allowing me to store it in my bag while it is still slightly warm after I remove the pug. Overall, I really enjoy using this straightener. The width is ideal for styling as well. Very highly recommended 💘💘!

i’ve had these straighteners since 2023 and they’re the best straighteners i’ve ever had (also makes your hair so shiny!!) and they heat up really quick!! i would literally die for these straighteners and i’m not even kidding. plus they automatically turn off if you leave them on for a long time which is amaze

I have very curly hair and roots but the other straighteners i’ve used were thinner which made it last longer to straighten and i have to use the heat 410 which was extremely damaging for my hair. With this straightener i only need to use the heat 200 and it works wonders and makes my hair so much healthier. 🥳 My new fave straightener 🤩🤩

I really like it. It heats up fast and makes my hair smooth and straight. The plates don’t pull my hair, and it’s easy to use. I like that I can choose the heat level, so it doesn’t damage my hair. It also helps reduce frizz, and my hair stays straight for a long time. The cord moves easily, so styling is comfortable.
