Do they damaged the walls when taking them down as i am I'm university halls and can't leave at marks on the walls when I leave ?

Yes they do. They leave bits of cork stuck to the wall and it’s difficult to get off.

can i cut them to make it smaller as i have to put them in cubes?

I had to cut some of mine to get them to fit the space I wanted to fill. If you have a very sharp decent size craft knife or Stanley knife, I found that they cut easily. And you can mark the cutting line on the plastic backing before you peel it off.

Are cork tiles suitable for external notice boards

External use would be unsuitable without a waterproof cover. It is unlikely that an external varnish would suffice because of the small cavities between the structure of the cork. The adhesive may also deteriorate if exposed to the elements.

Have just received 4 packs of tiles and all slightly warped. What's the best way to get them flat before fixing to wall?

Probably doesn't matter. If the self adhesive sticks well to the wall the tiles will stick flat anyway.
