what type of blades do you need for the bosch PST 700 E jigsaw

Could this also be used for general work like cutting a trellis down in the garden?

Hi. Yes it probably would cut a trellis if you could lay the trellis on a flat surface, but I think for cutting something like that an electric saw would be quicker. I was very impressed with that jigsaw though and would recommend Bosch.See what you think of the electric saw below.I personally haven't used one but my son has and he likes it.Bosch PFZ 500 E Multi-Saw. Is this power tool capable of cutting through thin acrylic/plexiglass?

Hi Katherine. I've used this jigsaw (but with additional blades) to cut through several plastics, so the machine will certainly handle acrylic. However for best results you may wish to invest in a blade set. The supplied blades are designed for softwood / chipboard and while they might just manage acrylic you'll get a much better result with the right blade. Good sets of blades are available for £5 - £10. They'll make the job much, much easier and are a doddle to fit.

I have a task to build a workbench out of Dexion angle would this jigsaw be powerful enough to cut metal 4-5 mm thick?

I think you would be unwise to try: it may work but you are going to use a lot of blades and the Bosch PST 700 Ev 500 is not, in my view, designed to chop up Dexion.
