Would this box hold more than the 100 cards it comes with?

Yes, the box is about 6 cm deep and a pack of 100 cards is about 2.5 cm thick so you could stack at least 200 cards in it. However, this excludes any index cards. Also it becomes more difficult to locate and extract a card if there are more than about 120.

Does the lid clip on to keep securely closed?

Yes, you can close the lid. But u cannot make it secure as there is no lock.

Would this box hold silvine record cards (127mmx77mm)?

Ideally cards should be 127x75. 127x77 will fit but the thumbed letter index, although still completely visible, will not be quite so exposed. 'do hope this helps.
