Simple, effective, fiddly
When I bought this I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I'm happy to say it has actually surpassed my expectations, but that's not to say there aren't some negatives about it.Firstly, I bought this because my rented house has old double-glazed windows that basically aren't double glazed. Despite running a dehumidifier to the point where the air was as dry as a desert, and the wife and I would wake up feeling hungover we were so dried out during the night, the windows were still covered in condensation. And with condensation comes black mould. So I bought this. To be honest I felt cheated when I got it. It is just a sheet of thin plastic and some double sided tape. So not worth the money, right? And then there was the putting it up. Having to find floorspace enough to cut a window shaped size, while the cat bounds around on her new crunchy crispy playground that you (obviously) have bought just for her was a pain in behi d to say the least.Depending on how big your window(s) is/are you're probably going to need a hand putting it up. Sometimes the plastic sheet hits the exposed tape before it's meant to causing rucks etc. Most of these you can sort out with a hairdryer, but some you can't. There isn't a worse feeling than fecking around with all this only to find a huge crease along your window pane that won't go away. Finally, it's up. You take the hairdryer to it and eventually you cant even see that it's there. Not only has it stopped ANY condensation forming on my windows, it has also made my house much warmer. Win!I've actually placed it to just above the window handle meaning I can still open and close my windows, and therefore I leave it on during summer. I've had the current set on for about a year.Just beware, you forget it's there. So you go to peek out the window at something going on outside only to bump your face against the new invisible forcefield before the glass. Doesn't hurt, but can break the sheeting.Overall then this is the most effective, simple, yet fiddly solution I can imagine. For the results I've had I'd say this is as cheap as chips. However, if I'm basing it on what you're actually paying for then I'd say this is overpriced. But since it's not going to break the bank, if in doubt I'd say go for it. I will definitely get it again if needed.

Very Impressed!
Second year I have purchased this. I live in an 1800s grade listed building with single glazed sash windows, which get very drafty and drip with condensation. As you can see by the photos, this film makes so much difference! I am unable to apply the film to the top/middle section as I want to still be able to open the window, and you can easily see the difference between those with film and without.I've put four stars as I do have to keep checking the tape is staying stuck down. When applying make sure it's as stuck as possible with no air gaps.I had no issues removing last year, it didn't mark or take off any paintwork which was good.As for temperature control, my flat is still cold but then I haven't covered the top middle section so this may be why.Overall, definitely worth it. Little fiddly to apply but once you get the hang of it, no problem.A cheap and effective way to prevent condensation 👍🏻

Sortedmy north-facing box room mould problem
Used in a box room thats North facing and seafacing with a wooden window frame and lots of cold, damp and windy weather to deal with. Had a mold problem, not really bad, just in the corner above an air vent that creeps along the ceiling above the window frame and along the bottom of the wooden window frame and cill, not the worst but looked grotty and needed addressing, all the mould sprays etc performed a very temporary fix and I thought this was worth a go, measured the window, cut the film and sticky strips, the film is completely clear (so you can't see it from outside) then followed the instructions, which were straightforward. This was a complete success, the room is noticeablely warmer, mold has stopped completely, it just didn't come back and we've seen some seriously bad weather this year. I keep going into the room and checking but it's bone dry and no mould. I've been able to completely clean and repaint everything and it's all stayed mould free. For the price and the ease of installation, it's very very impressive.

Doesn't work, waste of money and time
Just have a brand new patio window installed so perfect opportunity to try out this insulation method. What a waste of time and wrangling with the plastic sheet on such a large pane of glass. Applied to one door only so could make a comparison. It made absolutely no difference whatsoever to the cold coming through or the condensation which collects at the bottom. I don't know whether the plastic sheet needs to be thicker in order to be efficient, this is as thin clingfilm, don't waste your money, emperors new plastic. Also every tiny bit of fluff and dust sticks to the plastic so it's a v v v frustrating job to get it on the window clean. you clean the window first but the plastic acts like a dust magnet and attracts everything to the glass you've just cleaned and the plastic sheet. don't waste your time and energy. disappointing. Tried to give zero stars but of course you can't.

Made a huge difference for condensation and heat loss on a wooden back door
I wish I'd bought this sooner. I installed it on my back door, which is an old wood door with two large single glass panes. The rest of my house has double glazing, so I knew this was the source of heat loss. The glass would also get so much condensation in the winter that is have to leave a towel rolled up at the bottom of the door to catch the drips.Since installing this, it's noticeably warmer in that room, but most importantly, no more condensation!!It took me longer than expected to install this on my own, and unfortunate a rookie mistake of trying to get the sheet as tight as possible with the hairdryer - went too close and it melted a hole in to it so I had to start again. The adhesive stuck brilliantly on my wooden door. I did attempt to use some left over on a small PVC window that also gets lots of condensation, and it would not stay stuck. For the purpose I bought it for it is absolutely brilliant.

Amazing
Pros: good quality foil and double sided tape. Sufficient amount of tape. Small cardboard packaging. Good easy instructions. Strong hold on the tape even tho I reglued one window sheet when learning. Very good transparency. Doesnt look like theres foil unless you touch it. And most of all does insulate. When I press it to feel the window glass underneath, the glass is very cold but the foil pleasant lukewarm. Attached yesterday on three windows and kitchen door. No condensation between the foil and the glass. I mounted it on double glazed pvc windows in the study, living room and kitchen and on pvc kitchen door as these are the rooms i spend most of my time working from home and bedroom i only use in the evening. Although the room temp in those rooms and the two bedrooms is the same, the quality of that cold is different. In the bedrooms its more chilly on the skin and in the insulated ones it's still pleasant despite being 16c only. I'm trying to postpone having to put heating on as it's just me in a three bedroom flat of energy efficiency E only and that will definitely help.Cons: only that it might require some manual skills and patience. It's not for people who are not very technical or manual unless you won't mind some excess foil if not tensed enough. I had manual jobs before so ended up invisible but it might not be the case with everyone.Process: the manual says leave 5cm spare around the tape and when taping do the top and the sides, then bottom. I wanted to cover as many windows as possible with one sheet so i kept less than 5cm. Turned out still good and did three rooms in full with still some bits left. Also i found it easier to tense and avoid excess wrinkling and flapping about being visible on the window by doing too, then bottom, then readjusting top, then doing one side at a time to tense it more. Then you heat the tape and run your fingertips alongside to smooth any wrinkles on tape or bubbles. Also heating (not too close not to melt) made the foil adjust and tense in the corners so it's tense as s string and straight like glass. See pictures.Advice: the heating doesn't make it heat shrink to glass. It smooths out excess and most of all helps the adhesive. It's not meant to stick to glass but create air chamber between just like you have between two sheets of glass in double glazed. So on singke glazed old windows you'll make them double glazed. Which is fab. If you have wooden frames, I would recommend maybe sanding or varnishing smooth first. I don't know how the tape would stick to rough wood. I used for smooth frame. Take your time. Don't rush. Plan by looking back first how you'll do it in terms of where to put tape. I saw reviews of people wanting to use around the handles and on the far outside part of frame. This is not for that. If you need to insulate the frame, use self adhevise rubber seals for doors and windows or poll filla foam. This product doesnt insulate window frames, it's supposed to insulate the glass and also stop any draft from places where the glass goes into the frame, not where the frame goes into the wall. Think of it as another sheet of glass and check where original glass goea into the window frame. This is how you'll know where to put the tape and mount it all.Pictures: attaching from evening of mounting and the next rainy day. Was going to wash the outside of windows first to test extendable pole i bought, so that it would show full transparency but it's a rainy weekend.

Excellent if you take the time to fit it properly
I’ve used this film on around ten windows across several rental properties, on a mixture of different window types. I’ve found it excellent for reducing draughts and making old, draughty windows considerably more comfortable.I’m slightly surprised by some of the poor reviews. I suspect a fair few problems come down to installation. You really do need to clean the window frames thoroughly before applying the double-sided tape, as the instructions say. On very large windows I’d also consider doubling the width of the tape, particularly where there’s more tension on the film. When shrinking it, go gently with the hairdryer. There’s no need to blast it with heat. Take your time and the wrinkles gradually disappear. Once properly fitted and shrunk, the film is remarkably close to invisible.I’ve left it up for three or four months at a time without problems and have used the same product successfully in multiple rentals.Four stars rather than five simply because fitting it well does require a bit of care. But fitted according to the instructions, it does exactly what I wanted it to do

Life changing
I live in a very old rental house, where all the smaller windows are singles glass, of course the owner is not interested in changing the windows or doing anything. I suffered with the windows from September until March, almost every day there very humid with a lot of condensation, and cold. I got the product and thought maybe it can be help me. It dis not help me it changed everything, now there is condensation in the windows, not even when im cooking or taking a bath, which is incredible. I would recommend anyone, it is true that it can be complicated to install, but once you do it, it is incredible if you have any window that is bad considered using this product!
