2.5" SSD to 3.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive HDD Adapter Caddy Tray CAGE Hot Swap Plug

Fitting perfectly into my Dell Optiplex 7020 SFF Plus. Added a 2.5" SATA - fitted well, easy to install and matched the other metal caging in the PC. Excellent.

There are plenty 2.4-3.5" adapter brackets and I have used many different designs over the years. They all work, they all do the job and by and large it matters not whether you get a cheap plastic one for 99p from a well known auction site or a super-expensive brand name model made of anodised aluminium with a fancy logo. However, there are times when it does matter, and a case in point is upgrading an older iMac's hard drive to SSD. The iMac is built to the 3.5" form factor and assumes everything is _just so_ in terms of size, shape, placement of screws, connectors etc and in this case, a bracket like this one is essential. There will be similar cases in the PC world too. Certain servers, hot-swap caddies etc. If that's the case for you, get this bracket. Otherwise, save yourself the bother and the money and get the cheapest available adapter.

My Dell XPS8930 is probably the slowest PC I have ever owned even after installing more RAM it drove me nuts with how slow it was. I had to wait for SSD drives to be less expensive before taking the plunge and replacing the HDD with a new Crucial SSD all I needed was a decent 3.5 to 2.5 convertor and this item looked the part. On delivery it didn't disappoint and was a complete doddle to fit into the existing HDD bay with minimum effort on my part. As easy as flicking a light switch. The item is well made and although I didn't need them there was a set of screws for those who have to screw this item into their PC HDD bay. My PC is as fast as lightning now. The item is very well made and worth every penny!

This adapter is well made, works well and is reasonably priced. I've used it to upgrade a 2009 iMac to SSD and it performed the job admirably. It would work equally well with other iMacs which use a 3.5" drive. The basic idea of the adapter is that it allows you to fit a 2.5" drive in a any bay designed to take a 3.5" drive and it succeeds in this. The mounting holes are identical to 3.5" drives as is the location of the SATA connectors (which is important in the case of the iMac and probably also in any device with hot-swap bays). There are two minor niggles in the design which prevent me from giving it the full 5 stars. One is that the adapter is very thin, certainly much thinner than any real 3.5" drives. This makes it unsuitable for use in tool-less bays, which are actually quite common. Also, there are four mounting holes on the sides of 2.5" drive, but none on the underside (see pictures), and there could be situations where having those additional mounting holes could be useful. For most people though, this isn't going to be an issue.

These fit into an Enermax Hot-Swap drive caddy perfectly. Sturdy and accurately made with screw holes that line up exactly, so took moments to fit. They came with two sets of four screws. One set fits the holes in a Samsung EVO SSD. I guess the other set fit other drives? Each of the PC's in my office have two hot swap drives, and these adaptors made it so easy to replace the vibrating, humming, mechanical HDDs with silent SSDs and so I can keep my smart and functional Enermax drive caddies - result! The internal fan in each Enermax caddy isn't needed for an SSD, so it can be unplugged (look within the caddy) giving complete silence - bliss. Very pleased to have found these. Good value, as I see similar adaptors for sale by Crown Trade on Amazon for £20.99

An excellent senisible solution to mount 2.5" drives in 3.5" bay in an HPZ600 PC. All fitted perfectly, sockets aligned, correct screws provided.

A perfect adapter to make a 2.5" drive as a 3.5" HDD drive form factor. I needed for HP MicroServer caddy adapter and this provided a perfect solution. While I am pleased with the product, hence 5-star, I am disappointed about this particular seller by the name Nollmit, (please note that this product is sourced from multiple sellers). I was somehow misled to believe that they are based in UK (they even advertise a Greater London postcode) and I went ahead with the order thinking that UK based delivery is a matter of days not weeks. It took nearly a month from China. I have no problem if I was told clearly from the outset - I have purchased items before with the knowledge that delivery would take weeks from China particularly if the price was right. But on this occasion I needed the item sooner and hence why I was swayed by the "UK based business" description, which in fact can mislead customers in the precise meaning of the phrase. Anyways, product and price 5/5, seller rating 1/5.

Each computer I’ve needed to refurbish by converting from HDD to SDD this item has been a life saver! In total I have purchased 2 of these but on 2 separate occasions. 1st occasion I needed to convert a computer where I volunteer at from HDD to SDD and fittings was absolutely perfect no modifications or complaints needed. The 2nd occasion I needed to again convert a computer from HDD to SDD. Only issue I had with this occasion was the 6 holes one the caddy was just 1mm to 1.5mm to 2mm too small to fit into a hot swap bay caddy, however with just enlarging them ever so slightly. Again worked like a charm. I tend to purchase a few more of these caddies and without a doubt I will be buying more if I need them if and when we need them at my occupation :)

Facilissimo da installare, di ottima qualità: tiene saldamente l'unità SSD e può essere sostituita a caldo se necessario. Ho provato altre soluzioni più costose, come i supporti per unità stampate in 3D e OWA (BLUE), ma questo funziona molto meglio ed è compatibile al 100% con i supporti per "drive caddy" originali del Mac Pro.

Me parece un producto perfecto para el fin que buscaba: instalar un SSD en un iMac (del 2007 en mi caso). Aparte de su calidad, en apariencia buena, creo que hay que destacar dos cosas: 1) su sencillez en comparación con otros adaptadores que 'encapsulan' el SSD con lo que el disco 'respira' mejor. Si estos discos de por sí ya se calientan menos, en este caso no hay obstrucciones. 2) La ubicación de sus conectores. Para instalar un disco SSD en un ordenador del tipo del iMac, con los conectores muy limitados en longitud, es imprescindible que los conectores estén en la posición correcta respecto a un disco de 3.5".

Ich habe diesen Adapter in meinem iMac von 2013 zusammen mit einer Samsung SSD getestet. Der Einbau ging schnell und unkompliziert, der Adapter sitzt stabil und die Verbindung ist einwandfrei. Die SSD wurde sofort erkannt und die Datenübertragung läuft auf voller Geschwindigkeit, genau wie es sein soll. Im Vergleich zu anderen Adaptern, die ich ausprobiert habe, macht dieses Modell den solidesten Eindruck. Verarbeitung, Passgenauigkeit und Geschwindigkeit passen hier einfach zusammen. Für mich ist das aktuell der bevorzugte Adapter, wenn es darum geht, eine 2,5-Zoll-SSD in einem 3,5-Zoll-Schacht einzubauen.
