I want secure a large statue to  a paving slab. Would this do the iob . And would it be secure

Hello--I think it would depend on why you were securing the statue to the slab--anti-theft or stability. If you just were going for stability, it would probably be ok, provided you mixed the stuff fully and made a deep enough bed of the mix.  Use the entire bag when you are mixing up--I tried to just use partial bags for small jobs, but the mix did not turn out as good as when I've used the whole bag (ratio of sand to cement was not quite right, I'm assuming).  If you are securing the statue for anti-theft, I think that this stuff is too brittle--it could easily be chipped away.  I would consider perhaps fixing a metal rod into the base of the statue, drilling a hole in the area you want to secure it,  using a specialist adhesive to secure the statue down, and then using a stronger cement mix to bed the item in.  Hope this info helps.

Can this be dry brushed in to a half inch joint and then wet via a watering can, rather than pre mixing and applying?

Definitely but not a watering canid you have a fine mist sprayer would be much better

That is a tricky question to answer without knowing more. I bought 1 bag and used it to fill a hole 7" square by 10" deep through a breeze block wall. I had some left over although not much, hope that helps. Its great stuff but do be careful it sets REALLY QUICKLY so you don't have much time to play around with it.
