Unisex Special Weekender Slip Through Quartz Watch with Analogue Display and Nylon strap

I bought a fw of these Timex Weekenders as soon as they came out in 2011. One for my collection and a few others as gifts.I love these watches as they are simply a design classic.I have uploaded a few pics to show the face - strap and indiglo night light in use.The weekender watch has the slip thru strap which is interchangeable with loads of others. In this case I went for the red - white - blue.The watchface measures 38mm across and 8mm deep. The strap is 8mm wide.It's a quartz movement with the classic red sweeping second hand which I love! The strap has adjustment holes right the way along so it should fit any size wrist from the get go.Timekeeping is the business with this watch and no problems to report here. The buckle fatening is spot on and really comfortable and the Timex Indiglo backlight is the best on any watch. The whole face is evenly lit and perfectly visible at night.Great timepiece for 10 to 100 years old and with the selection of slip thru straps the look of this watch can change dramatically. A classic inexpensive watch in my opinion.

I bought this to replace a broken Mondaine watch, which I loved, but which was problematic. Do yourself a favour and search for images of this Timex Weekender 'Central Park' watch on a search engine, as the stock photos here really don't do it justice. The bezel here looks a bit too much like brushed steel. Maybe I'll take some photos and update this review when I can.The watch is simply beautiful. The clearest face, with little points at the tip of the hands that reach all the way to the minutes on the dial. This version also has a red second hand, which makes visibility even better. I love the 24 hour numbers on the inner part of the dial, and the indiglo night light feature is bright and has been very useful on a number of occasions. I'd never had a light on a watch before, and I'd read some reviews of this Timex feature as 'gimmicky'. Not so.The glass is very good and I've been wearing it for six weeks and not a scratch to either glass or metal. The strap started to show signs of needing a wash. You could probably just put it in with your clothes, but I decided to just scrub it with some hand soap and a toothbrush (not the one I use for my teeth, I should add!). It came up as good as new, with the white as it was when I bought it. Great.The only downside to the watch is an unusual trick with setting the time. The long and pointed hands make it beautifully easy to hit the minute when setting, and there is little to no movement in the hands when the crown is pushed in (a problem I've encountered with far more expensive watches). However, it took me some time to realise why the watch was not keeping time even though I'd set it bang on the minute. The reason is because it takes around 19 seconds for the minute hand to start moving once the crown is pushed in. It's a little bizarre, but once I figured this out, and allowed for those 19 seconds to run around, the watch has kept excellent time. In six weeks of use, it's lost 13 seconds. That's around two seconds a week, which is pretty astonishing.My dad liked my watch so much, I bought him the other version of the Central Park edition (the mainly blue with red stripes). Similarly, it had the same issue as mine, with the minute hand not moving for between 10-20 seconds after pressing the crown in. I suspect they may all be like this. It's just a case of watching closely how long it takes to start moving, and then adjusting the time accordingly.That one niggle out of the way, and I'm absolutely delighted with the watch. It's so comfortable. Yes, the tick is audible, but not intrusive and I don't notice it unless I'm prompted to. I also love the ability to customise the watch however I like, with a vast array of different coloured straps available cheaply from places like ebay. However, none of those straps I've bought have been as soft and comfortable as the one this watch comes with.

Two reasons to buy a watch. One is to tell the time, the other to own something you enjoy looking at. I bought this Timex solely to tell the time but I must say it is a pleasant little fellow to look at. The strap is soft and, for once in a modern watch, is long enough to fit my wrists. So pleased. Four stars? I have another Timex - nicked by my wife - and it needed a new battery in about 6-months. This may go the same way. Not related, but Amazon deserve a big pat on the back for their customer service. For various reasons, my delivery went astray. Without hesitation, I was given the choice of another watch or a refund. This is despite the delivery driver's GEO tag showing my package had been delivered. In the end my package turned up - long and boring story - and I returned my refund. But at no point did Amazon question my integrity. Rare trust and one I value. As an aside, the price of these watches goes up and down. I paid £25 delivered and rate that as decent value.

The watch is simple. Exactly what you get in the picture. The watch tells you the time and that is it. It is quartz so you can expect accuracy! The night light is perfect and you can see clearly the time in any darkness level. The wristband is simple but it gets wet very easily, and take a few to dry so avoid doing the dishes with it or showering. The watch itself is water-proof but I wouldn't test it (mainy for the wristband). The look is simple and classy/casual, honestly dont expect people to come over and comment over your watches awesomeness. Simple and goes with many attires. You can't go wrong. It really fits with almost any combination. The colors of the band are not that bright to really dictate what you should wear with.In terms of sturdiness it seems strong (i accidentaly hit my watch on the furniture sometimes, like when you hit your toe on the edge of furniture). So far no dents or scratches. Solid build and the wristband as well so far has no damage. I have the watch over 3 months now and it is just like new. One thing that miiiiight you need to know is that the watch is audible. If you are outside no you will not hear it, but when you sleep if you put the watch within a hand away you will definitely hear the tick-tock. Not loud to be annoying! But I as a light sleeper cant have this near my head to sleep. Having the hand at the hight of the heart and lower; no sound can be heard unless you focus carefully as if you are about to meditate.*A note for the average consumer: notice that there is still a chance that you might get a faulty product (please expect this for the price tag; the quality control is not that strong for cheap items) even though mine is perfect. I would recommend this to anyone hands down. Cheap and elegant.

The watch looks very good in the Amazon photo but in reality it is even better. It has a nice feel/weight and the diameter of the face is pleasingly large and clear. I checked the accuracy of the watch by setting the second hand to synchronise with a totally accurate radio controlled digital watch. After 28 days the Timex watch was just about 1 second slow. I don't think you could expect anything better! The face is glass covered and it feels very hard /scratch resistant and the back-light works very well indeed. I see that some people have found the "tick" disturbingly loud, however the one I have does not have a particularly loud tick at all... just the normal one second tick that you expect from a quartz movement analogue watch. Not particularly obtrusive in my opinion.I changed the supplied strap for a natural leather one and the combination looks very good indeed.Update: 6 months on and the watch is still absolutely great. Keeps perfect time and still looks very good despite being worn constantly and having been given quite a hard time! I know the watch is not meant to be totally waterproof but I accidentally forgot to take it off when I went swimming and it survived without any sign of water getting in at all (not recommended though!).What a beautiful watch for the money!

Everybody had watches once upon a time. Time information is a market that has since been decimated by e-gadgets. I wanted to rediscover the convenience of access to time with the mere twist of the wrist as opposed to the retrieval of a phone from the pocket, press a button etc. Much as I would love a classic mechanical timepiece I couldn't justify this purely for convenience. The Weekender seemed to be one of the few quality solutions. A simply elegant, clear, clean and functional display with a plethora of strap styles of which I opted for the classic New York colour pop.It actually looks better on the wrist than it does in pictures and is a good full-size faced watch and thus far has kept time perfectly. The perception of quality belies its price.Yes, it ticks loudly. Light sleepers should leave it downstairs at night or at least away from immediate earshot. Personally I find the ticking to be a constant nostalgic reminder of my childhood when the tick of a watch was an ever-present soundtrack to life.

I love this watch. I have bought several of this same watch with different coloured faces (black, cream and now white) both for myself and as gifts for friends and family. I've not had any trouble with any of them and I think its a great value stylish watch that you could wear anywhere but isn't so expensive that you need to worry about it.The white face on this particular model is very clear and easy to read particularly at night with the "Indiglo" feature which lights up the whole white face in a light blue colour. I have large wrists so the strap isn't quite as long as I'd like so I tend to replace with one of the widely available "NATO" type straps. In this case I was quite sad to do so as the one supplied suits the watch and is very attractive. As long as you have more reasonably sized wrists you should be fine with the supplied strap which does feel quite soft and comfortable.Overall it is hard to find anything bad to say about this watch.

Rufus says you can wear this watch for swimming as it's water resistant up to 30m, i wore it in the shower and after the second day it started to fog up on the inside, contacted Amazon who got timex to contact me, apparently although it's water proof to 30m it's not suitable to wear in the shower, confused i certainly am, they emailed me a chart with what is and what isn't suitable, it doesn't make any sense, i will never but a timex again.

2014 is when I bought this watch. Timex took a long time to launch this particular brand (the Weekender) in India. After 3 years of almost daily usage, here is how I summarize the experience - a wonderful timepiece that you can absolutely bank upon.Even after all these years, I still get complimented on the fresh design of this watch, which is ironic because it is supposed to be a classic piece. Oh well, such is life.Out of the box and running, I haven't had any need to replace the battery, yet. It is such a great experience to have a reliable yet stylish watch that you can wear and forget. The strap changes can keep you from getting bored, while keeping it "fresh". The quality is top notch, and if you take proper care, the straps can last you ages.But, the only negative, which actually is not so negative for me, but you might find it a deal breaker - is the noise. TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK. It can be heard from the opposite end of a quiet room. Do not keep it around your bed if you are a light sleeper! I just store it away from the bedroom. During the day the ambient noise is enough to drown any ticks or tocks.Overall, this watch offers much more value than its price, and given that proper care is taken, it will last you long.TL;DRHighly recommended watch. I literally bought this watch for its dial. The color is exactly like the picture. I don't particularly like the color of the band. I bought a leather strap for the watch and it looks a million times better. I also got it for a steal deal, so it's totally worth it.

Just picked up this Timex Weekender and I’m already loving it. It’s simple, clean, and super practical.The Indiglo light feature is way more useful than I expected.It feels like the kind of watch that was made for everyday wear, and in some ways it’s more practical than a few of the fancier pieces I own.Comfortable on the wrist, easy to read, no fuss, no unnecessary features, just a solid watch that does exactly what I need.
