really good quality
I needed a fly screen for my boat as I live aboard and at the moment there are some wasps on steroids getting in. Last year I bought a product of eBay which was wafer thin and flimsy and lasted about 3 seconds before I threw it away. This mesh is a 1000 times better. It cuts well, feels so much more durable and doesn't tear when a lady bird lands on it. I ordered more than I needed thinking it probably wouldn’t last; now I’m making fly screens of all of the opening hatches. I’m really pleased 5 star rating

Excellent Product
Brilliant product - has solved the problem of new cat attempting to climb out of top window ....and keeps all the insects out as well ( a bonus ).Easy to attach with heavy duty velcro ( I have UPVC window frames ).And, very fast delivery from supplier.

Great, if you only want 1 metre
My initial impression is that this is quite strong and will do the job I want it to. Let fresh air in, while making sure the cats and kittens, don't jump or fall from my bedroom window. There is also the added bonus that it keeps bugs from entering my room through the window. Although they just find another way in. Ugh.It does not obscure the light, in fact it just looks like an open window until you get up close.Only time will tell how long this will last and how strong it truly is.If it doesn't live up to my expectations, I will update this review. It loses a star because I was going to buy more, but the postage went from £2 for 1 metre, to £6 for 2 metres and £8 for 3 metres. If anything the postage gets cheaper the more you buy. I do need another 2 metre piece for my son's room, I just refuse to pay £6 in P&P though, so I will find another way of doing it.

Definitely NOT cat proof :(
I had high hopes for this product as I have an elderly cat that doesn't go out but thought would enjoy the weather while snoozing by the back door, as well as getting all the sounds and smells of the great outdoors and the added benefit of no flies in the house for us. So I ordered two metres of this (expensive £17.95/m) plastic pet mesh. I also bought sew and stick velcro and sewed the velcro to the mesh and applied the sticky side of the velcro to the door frame. It was all good. Right up until the neighbourhood cats arrived on the scene and proceeded to test the effectiveness of this new "barrier". It did not stand. They were inside in no time at all and then it became like some kind of game as to how fast they could "break in" and eat any cat food they could find. I also have another cat who is an outdoor cat, and once she saw how this worked, all she needed to do to get back outside was lean against the edge or bottom corners till it eventually gave way from her great weight. So it is not something I can rely on to keep cats in or out if I am not in the room to physically stop them and my elderly cat is diabetic and needs regular insulin so if he got out and got lost....I should also say that I had tried regular flyscreen mesh (someone commented that it looked like old tights!) with velcro and that lasted about 2 mins against these neighbour cats. They ripped through it in no time, so then it really did resemble ripped tights, and so that was why I bought this expensive "cat proof" mesh that could not be ripped, but there are other problems with it regarding cats that also need to be considered (see above) and also if they get their claws hooked in the little holes in the mesh then while it doesn't rip, it gives them pulling power to either pull it down or out from the corners/edges and then they are in! I think if the velcro was on the inside of the door frame then this would not happen (?) but then I can't actually put there because of how the door opens and also, perhaps it would then have the same problem in reverse ie the indoor cats would be able to do the same thing as the outdoor cats are doing now!I also have it on the kitchen windows which open at the top of the window. No problem for keeping cats in, but again keeping cats out is more of a problem, especially if they are very determined to get into the cat food heaven that they seem to think our house is. Several times I have found them swinging from the window, trying to pull themselves up so they can then get to the space covered by the mesh. If they succeed in this, then a large determined cat pushing against the mesh will take about <5mins to access the kitchen and come crashing down onto the sink/worktop etc. So again, this is not something we can leave unsupervised as we do not want to leave the house and come back to find unwanted feline visitors raiding the cupboards!

Moggy proof
Made a screen for the patio doors so the moggy can get fresh air but not get out.Good strong material which the kitty loves to climb up which is amusing.Easy to use and strong. Doesn't obscure the view out of the door. Good stuff

Not tough enough for climbing cats or dogs.
This mesh is not the black ‘tuff mesh’ polyester ‘pet mesh’ that I expected to receive. My cat only took a few months to completely demolish this mesh, and I had to go to Streme.co.uk to buy the type of ‘pet mesh’ that is used on pet carriers and is strong enough to not tear with cat claws.Other than this, this is wonderful, durable, tough, insect mesh. It is much thicker and considerably tougher than tulle fabric fly screen. If you do not need to prevent an energetic animal from escaping from this mesh, it is perfect. This particular mesh would never keep a determined animal from escaping. The ‘Tuff Mesh’ type of ‘Pet Mesh’ will keep dogs and even the most determined, climbing cat (several of them could hang on it, without tearing) from tearing out and escaping.

Easy to cut and with the velcro they work perfectly ...
Very strong mesh!! I ordered 2 metres as my windows were to big for just one. Easy to cut and with the velcro they work perfectly (I just had to staple the velcro to the mesh as after a month of opening and closing the window, the velcro was coming out)Will re-buy when I will move from this flat. I finally can enjoy sitting on a sofa without worrying about my cat jumping out of the window!

A better toy than a window shield.
Almost impossible to fit, but the cats love playing with it on the floor, indeed it's much better as a toy than it would ever be as a window sheild!
