Everbuild General Purpose Silicone Sealant, Waterproof, Clear, 280ml

I used the clear Everbuild silicone sealant as part of my outdoor lighting project, shown in the photos. The first image shows the tube in use, and the second shows the finished seal around a wall light on a bumpy rendered surface. The sealant handled very well — smooth, steady flow and easy to control using the plunger gun you can see in the picture. It applied cleanly and bonded well to both the render and the light fitting. I made sure to work it into the small gaps underneath the fitting so it’s fully waterproof, and it’s sealed neatly all the way around. It dried quite quickly, with only a faint vinegar-type smell at first and no residue once cured. Overall, it’s very good value for what it is and appears perfectly suitable for exterior use. Time will tell, but I’m confident it’ll add that extra level of protection to keep the lights watertight. (Linked with my other reviews in this lighting series covering the fittings and LED bulbs.) Cheap, cheerful, does the job it was designed to do. Only negative is the fact it smells of strong vinegar for the first 12 hours or so.

Used this for different purposes and it worked fine for all of them. Set quickly and holds things in place well. Easy to apply. Strong odour but it disappears relatively quickly
