Siglent SDS1102CML+ Dual-Channel Bench Oscilloscope (100 MHz Bandwidth)

I bought a new Siglent oscilloscope type SDS 1102CML from a local company near me on Teesside in about 2018. I use it probably only a few time a year for my hobby building guitar effects. It’s build quality and features were unbelievable for the price. For my use I probably use only 20% of the scopes capabilities and the front panel controls allows you to do this easily. For my audio signal measurements I set the probes and vertical channels to X10/ dc or ac coupling, trigger to auto/edge and add measurements I need and that's it. However recently it did develop a problem at ‘switch on’ where it got stuck on boot up. A supplier located in the south did recognise the issue and kindly supplied a ‘recovery file’, at no cost for this problem. Siglent’s European head office were great and their support was fast, suppling the needed file which fixed the problem and updated the firm ware.

The Siglent Scope is supplied through Amazon by a UK company 'Tester Co UK' its worth mentioning that as the scopes are supplied from China that they have confirmed that they will execute the Siglent warrantee if required,hopefully you won't need it as it seems a well made product.

Delivery was fast as it arrived the next day. I like the features in the DSO as it provides almost all the auto measurements needed. However, I feel that the response of many operations are bit sluggish. Nevertheless, you get what you pay for. So can't complain.

Siglent SDS1102CML Dual-Channel Bench Oscilloscope (100 MHz Bandwidth) I carried out an in-depth review of scopes and initially bought an interface to use on my lap top. But in actual fact I found that I needed the lap top more for signal generation, sound capture and other uses. Also PC oscilloscopes don’t tend to have as many functions as a dedicated unit, thus the Siglent. Following my review, there are quite a few available around £280, the Siglent seemed to come out as the best all rounder in terms of features and value for money. I went for 100MHz version as it seemed to have the best features/price breaks with reviewers saying it really was 100MHz unit (others appeared not quite to make it). It has a very good build quality, display is clear and bright, triggering seems to be fine, stable and it can measure down to 2mV for me. Two channels is fine for my work (basically input and output) and of course if I want four I still have my PC interface! If you are looking for an excellent value dual beam scope, then I would recommend this.

I just bought this as my 1st scope, and must say I am very very impressed. As someone just starting out in electronics it has already proved invaluable in diagnosing where my circuits are going wrong. Being able to see the data and clock signals I am sending through a shift register at very high speeds is a sterling tool. The performance for such a budget scope is wonderful, with it's maximum sample rate (1Gsp) right where you need it the most, and the ability to store waveforms in a long memory (although at a reduced samplerate) is also a huge benefit when dealing with reading short timebase signals over a longer period of time. The menus are simple to navigate around, and even a complete beginner such as myself can quickly find all the features and understand them (not least due to the very helpful 'HELP' button. Want to know what a particular function does? just press help, then the button in question for a well written pop-up explaining it)

Ich bin verblüfft, wieviel man für den Kurs bekommt. Ich kannte nur von früher die alten 20 MHz-Geräte von Hameg und war etwas skeptisch, aber die Funktionsvielfalt ist der Hammer. Das Bedienkonzept ist sogar sehr durchdacht. Die Buttons sind zwar alles Gummidrücker, aber fühlen sich ok an. Die Triggermöglichkeiten sind vielfältig und falls man kein Bild sieht, drückt man die "Auto"-Taste und schon hat man eine stabile Darstellung imcl. einer Frequenzangabe. Die Cursor-Bedienung ist sehr einfach, und das Ding rechnet gleich Delta-T und Delta-U aus sowie eine Frequenz (falls DeltaT eine Periodendauer ist). Ein kleiner Fehler: im Zoom-Mode werden im unteren Fenster die Cursor nicht auf den Signalverläufen gesetzt; offenbar fehlt dort irgend ein Offset. (SW-Stand 5.01.02.30). Mal sehen, ob es ein Firmware-Update gibt. Trotzdem - ich bin sehr angetan.

Dopo averlo usato e confrontato con un tektronix 520 credo di poter dire che l'apparecchio soddisfa le mie esigenze. Sono soddisfatto.

Bedienung: einfach Qualität: o.k. Etwas zu leicht, rutscht beim betätigen der Knöpfe. Display-Auflösung: so la-la... könnte besser sein. Ansonsten: Top Gerät, wenn ich vorher vom Rigol 1054Z ($399) gehört hätte... mit 4 Kanälen und per Software auf 100 MHz und Logic-Analyzer aufrüstbar. Dagegen kann dieses Oszilloskop nicht ankommen...

Buena construcción, compacta y portátil. Incluye asa y patas todas plegables. Los controles tienen un tacto aceptable. Pantalla de 7" panorámica que viene muy bien cuando desplegas los menús. Se puede conectar a PC y manejarlo remotamente. También tiene conexión para red local. Puerto USB frontal para grabar capturas en lápiz USB. Incluye todos los cables y dos sondas sencillas de calidad básica. Su software es muy completo y aporta gran cantidad de opciones de manejo y configuración. En cuanto a calidad de medición, tiene la adecuada para aplicaciones amateurs. A altas frecuencias cercanas a los 100 Mhz la atenuación y la distorsión de hacen patentes. Sin embargo en frecuencias medias la calidad es aceptable. Para uso particular no científico cumple de sobras y es muy completo. En aplicaciones en las que no se requiera alta precisión es muy buena opción. Para reparaciones creo que va sobrado, a falta de comprobar su duración y fiabilidad en el tiempo. El precio es comparativamente más bajo que las demás opciones equivalentes de fabricación china. Como le voy a dar un uso amateur, estoy satisfecho con la compra.
