Olfa RTY-2DX Deluxe Rotary Cutter, 45 mm, Yellow

I've really enjoyed using this product. Makes cutting out dress patterns much faster. Only disadvantage over my dressmaking shears is the need to replace the blade quite regularly

I am so impressed with this rotary cutter. I have never used one before but as I am having problems with my thumb I thought it might help. It came enclosed in plastic and card which I was reasonably easy to get into. I am surprised and delighted at how easy it was to use. I used it to cut out a dress and it took me only a fraction of the time it would have taken me with scissors and was kind on my thumb. The blade is very, very sharp and I was glad I had paid a little extra and got the safer version. I was concerned that I would find the grip uncomfortable and thought I might have to lock it in the cutting position but it was fine to use in the safer position so the blade was only engaged when the trigger was squeezed. As I had never used a rotary cutter before I thought it might be difficult at first but it was very easy to use and I found it cut very cleanly as I was using a material that frayed very easily this was a bonus. I am so please with the cutter.

Good little tool

This is superb. Got my old one out yesterday which had admittedly been in storage for a while due to a house move and it just chewed the fabric up even on a new blade. So I bought this and its amazing. It just glides through the fabric like butter. I like that all you have to do is press the unlock button and squeeze the handles together and the cutting blade comes out, retracting when not in use. So much safer. Its really comfortable to use and manipulate around curves as well. I love it

I bought this because people kept saying how useful rotary cutters were. It's an absolute game changer. I'm fairly new to patchworking but not to fabrics, and I've always done my cutting with scissors. I've had to do much less since developing a hand injury and figured I had nothing to lose. This is fantastic. Recently I've been learning how to make folded star trivets, and what took me a day of cutting for the first set took me half an hour for the second. There are a couple of places on the wheel that are blunt, but I honestly couldn't care less - it saves me so much time and effort, is so easy to use, and has brilliant results. Definitely spend a little extra to get this name-branded rotary cutter. If you've never used one, it'll change your life. If you're looking to get a good one, choose this.

I'd previously tried unsuccessfully with a rotary cutter and didn't get on with it at all. Olfa had good reviews and so I thought I'd give it another try for my current sewing project. I found the Olfa cutter easier to use. It takes a little while to get used to the right amount of pressure needed for a cut but it's easy to hold and I like the safety feature of the button which prevents accidental use.

Highly recommended. Very safe to use.

Mia moglie è molto contenta con questo taglierino, adesso può tagliare i tessuti e i cartamodelli diritti, perché con la forbice non è un asso. Lo può utilizzare con entrambi mani ed è affilatissimo. Il materiale è tanto bello, robusto e il design azzeccato. Ottimo.

Estoy muy contenta con el cúter. Es muy seguro porque a diferencia de otro que tengo, la cuchilla sólo permanece fuera mientras se aprieta el mango. También he notado que pesa menos que otros cúters. El corte es fino y totalmente uniforme y no requiere de una segunda pasada para hacer efectiva la separación de telas. Además funciona genial para el corte de papel y cartón, por lo que lo aconsejo para ser usado por niñ@s, siempre bajo supervisión, puesto que no deja de ser una cuchilla. Debo decir que todavía no le he dado excesivo uso, por lo que no puedo opinar sobre la durabilidad y/o desgaste de la cuchilla. La única pega es que la cuchilla recoge residuos de tela al cortarla, al menos con tejidos de algodón, por lo que requiere un mantenimiento más constante. Aún así mi valoración sobre el producto es de máxima satisfacción.
