I really loved this FoodSaver vacuum sealer very easy to use and with lots of useful options and accessories. It worked perfectly at first but unfortunately the canister arrived cracked. The replacement was sent very quickly which I truly appreciated. However, the second unit I received had a faulty machine and would not seal at all. I was quite sad because I genuinely liked the product but since a second replacement wasn’t possible I had to return it for a refund. Still great concept and very user-friendly just unlucky with the units I received. So I bought another product which was the second choice

Bought this back in 2022 so Ive had it a few years now. It takes time to be able to submit a review and I figured that almost 3 years of use qualifies me to offer my 2 bobs worth. This little machine has become indespensible, its used almost daily and it is still going strong ( touchwood). the number of ways this comes in handy only reveal themselves once you buy it... you can buy in bulk at a discount therby saving a few quid, you don't have to eat a big joint daily as its a simple matter to either seal leftovers for short term fridge use or seal them for long term. I use it to store dried goods, flour, rice etc.Almost everything that goes in the freezer goes in vacuume sealed avoiding freezer burn - produce from the garden goes in a vacuum bag as it generally all comes at once. I've even used it to seal documents. If you use the bags slightly oversized then when you cut them along the top they can be used again if clean. In fact over the past couple of years it has saved me more than the original cost and I reckon its actually paying me to own it now. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit, couldn't or wouldn't be without it. By the way - the addition of the jar/container vaccum attachment means that I can also re-seal half used jar products into kilner jars - I have used it to seal Olives and pretty much anything that comes in a jar - just decant into a Kilner or Mason jar and using the 2 part lid sytem the machine will re vacuum the jar prolonging the items life. Every Prepper should have two ( One is none and 2 is 1)

I had been toying with the idea of getting one of these for a long time and I am glad that I did. Now and again I feel the call of the kitchen and make batches of curries, pasta creations, cottage pie (veggie),miso soup, etc. I always did freeze things as I have grandiose ideas of portion control and tend to accidentally cater for about 10 people, rather than the two of us. Anyhow, it is a doddle to use and has controls for how much vacuum (so it does not crush delicate foods), sealing, and a button that allows it to suck the air out and seal, all on its own. There is a small reservoir that prevents liquid being sucked into its “working bits”. There certainly are much cheaper sealers, but we were working on the principle that you buy a Rolls Royce far less often than a Lada. Three months in, it is performing perfectly. HOWEVER mine came with a round Food Saver container, which seemed an excellent idea for gallons of soup or whatever,,,,,, beware of these containers!!! The one that came with it had lost its vacuum after 10 minutes. I bought three others as I liked the idea and assumed that the original container was just a rogue one; they all had exactly the same problem. There is absolutely no point in producing vacuum containers that won’t retain a vacuum. I did complain, but was told that nobody else had complained about the containers, but when I looked at the reviews, practically everybody had the same problem! So the machine is excellent, the “vacuum containers” are not fit for purpose. Mine will probably finish up as very expensive flower pots.

I've toyed with the idea of buying a vacuum sealer for a number of years but finally decided to take the plunge with the Foodsaver FFS005. On inspection there was a missing component but that didn't affect the primary function. I am pleased to say that my expectations have been exceeded. It has been very easy to use and has performed efficiently. I now am able to take advantage of cut-price supermarket offers as I am able to freeze and then vacuum seal. The biggest surprise was with the leftovers. Instead of having to eat the same food for a few days, being able to vacuum seal and store the leftovers for a later date has made cooking more adventurous. Also, cheese can be kept for a much longer period without having to worry about waste. Overall, I would happily recommend the Foodsaver FFS005 to anyone considering vacuum sealing for the first time. It is simple to use, easy to store and has a useful range of accessories, particularly the leftover containers.

Works perfectly every time, easy to use. However it did not work on the supplied container. I phone the number on the instruction manual and they suggested that the suction tube might be faulty and supplied another tube without question and that one works well. So great customer service. It's more expensive than a lot of other machines but I always do a lot of research to find out which device I'd best and this machine regularly comes top of tested lists.

bought this Foodsaver Food Vacuum Sealer Machine as a Christmas present for my husband, and unfortunately it was a big disappointment. When we tried to use it to prepare our Christmas lunch, the vacuum function didn’t work at all. For a product at this price point, especially from a well-known brand, I expected it to work straight out of the box. Very frustrating, particularly as it let us down at the exact moment we needed it. Sadly, not the experience I was hoping for.

What a great machine on my 3rd one in 30 years this appears to be the best one is fast & easy to use

¿Un nuevo electrodoméstico? Pues sí. Y tan imprescindible como pueda serlo una lavadora. Llevaba tiempo buscando una buena envasadora y, tras mucho leer sobre ellas, muchas reseñas, al final me decidí por ésta. De entre las más completas (válida para alimentos secos, húmedos, marinados, envases...) es de las más compactas y se puede dejar en la cocina , en vertical, sin ocupar mucho espacio importante en cocinas pequeñas). Es muy muy sencilla de utilizar (el manual es como algo así "dummy para torpes") y viene equipada con los accesorios necesarios para empezar" rollo para crear envases al tamaño que se quiera, bolsas pequeñas (creo que son las que más utilizaré), bolsas gigantes (para grandes trozos de carne o grandes cantidades de comida) y un gran frasco con su cánula para vaciado que se puede utilizar con alimentos secos y húmedos. -Utilización de bolsas: no hay mas que meter el alimento en la bolsa, levantar la tapa, poner la bolsa, cerrar la tapa y pulsar botón de vaciado/sellado. -Utilización del rollo: colocar el rollo en el interior del compartimento, estirar hasta la almohadilla de sellado, cerrar la tapa (bloquear) y pulsar el botón de sellado. Cuando termine (se apagan casi todos los botones), se tira del rollo hasta donde se quiere cortar (tanto como queramos que sea de grande la bolsa que queremos) y se pasa la cuchilla. Y voila!, ya tenemos una bola lista para envasar. PROS: sencillez de uso. CONS: por poner un "con" diría que podría venir acompañada de más bolsas. Para empezar, quieres utilizarla con todo lo que tienes en la nevera y se te queda corta la cantidad de bolsas que trae y hay que tirar del rollo

Excellente machine, seulement le cutter ne marche pas ! Aussi je découpe avec une paire de ciseaux le sac a la bonne dimension. Très très utile quotidiennement, voir avec la ré-utilisation des sacs. Économique et utile pour mieux organiser ses restes, diminuer ses courses et mieux organiser son frigo et congélateur ! Je suis ravie!

J'en ai acheté une pour mon usage personnel il y a deux ans. Maintenant, j'en achète une autre pour l'anniversaire d'un ami.
