Does the job of separating grit in buckets

Does what it says it does. Very good as stopped me picking up all the dirt and grit that i could see at the bottom of the bucket! can’t believe i have been putting that dirt back on my car :(... however think i need a bigger bucket as this was a squeeze and didn't go all the way down... kind of kept floating back up but it still did what i wanted it to do :)

The first thing to know is that this doesn't really fit in a conventional bucket. If you do use one in a bucket from a supermarket etc it will sit halfway down and much of the water wont be accessible. That being said it perfectly fits Meguiars own car wash bucket.The benefit of a grit guard is that if allows larger particles that come off your cloths or (heaven forbid) sponges from the contact wash of you car to sink to the bottom of the bucket but not be recirculated into the water and picked up again to scratch the paintwork. Many of the alternatives I've seen on Amazon are a very poor fit in the bottom of buckets and so allow those bits of grit to recrculate and defeat the object of using one...this one fits Meguiars own bucket perfectly. In addition the legs are moulded into the guard unlike some others which is useful as the loose ones have a nasty habit of coming off.Remember....this doesn't keep the water in the bucket clean if you put a dirty cloth or sponge in it for rinsing....however it will allow the grit to separate from the water and stay at the bottom where it wont be picked up again.All in all I wish I'd got one sooner....a bit expensive bit great if you are serious about detailing your car.

One of these items that you don’t need, but when you get one you will see what a difference it makes and continually use it! Then tell your friends about it and wonder why you didn’t know about these before.A good buy for anyone serious about car cleaning.

If you're an avid car washer this is for you. I wish I would have had one of these years ago, fits perfectly in the 5 gallon bucket and separates your sponge or brush from any grit that gets in to the bucket. I am pretty sure this will help keep down the swirl effect you get from the micro scratches the grit in the water can cause. I also use a micro cloths mop on a stick to clean the higher parts of my car and when I use to set it in the bucket it would sink right to the bottom and sit in the grit, I am sure it would then transfer some it to the micro fiber and then onto my truck. With this grit guard the chances of that happening are going to be greatly reduced. This is well constructed of heavy duty plastic and expect a long life out of it. These are mint, traps dirt and debris at the bottom of the bucket, I’m always quite surprised at how much crap it catches at the bottom of the bucket, you pay for what you get, they aren’t flimsy and well made

Does exactly what it says on the tin, bought with the Meguiars yellow bucket.

Seems expensive for what it is, but good quality, feels robust and fits the Meguiars 5 gallon bucket perfectly.It should be less than £10 in my opinion, but if it saves grit getting washed onto my van, then it's worth every penny.Recommended, if you can get it at a sale price, even better.

I'll be honest: I didn't think the dirt guard would make a difference, I've never used one when washing my car. I then used it after watching videos on how to wash a car by hand (turns out that I've been doing it wrong all along hahaha). And..... my sponge looks as clean as it was when I first bought it, it had gotten black from the car grime. The dirt stays at the bottom, it fits my bucket. Great job!
