Hasbro Gaming Taboo Game

Had a brilliant afternoon playing this game today. I was looking for something I could engage my 13 and 15yr olds with and get them off the internet for a few hours, so we played, two teams of two, and it got very heated but was so much fun! Two sets of cards with four words/terms to be guessed on each, and a list of associated words that are taboo. With the egg timer running one team member has to describe the guess word to his other team member, without accidentally mentioning one of the taboo words, no gesturing, no "sounds like" no mentioning part of the word. If you succeed and the egg timer is still going, grab another card and continue. Then the other team takes their turn. We got through one whole set of guess words, which means potentially there's only likely to be 3 more games playable before the set becomes redundant but for the price paid and the amount of fun we had, I think it was well worth it!

We discovered this board game when we watched the film Four Christmases. It looked like so much fun and IT IS. Great family game or when you get a bunch of friends around. Top score!

I usually play this game with adults and have a blast with it! But to my surprise, I also played this with children above the age of 10 and they were so good at playing this game. This is a great game to help younger children learn different synonyms they can use for some words. But overall, the best game ever, you will find it very hard to stay quiet.

We had a blast playing this with friends. The individual rounds go quite quickly as you are only playing in two teams, but it's so addictive and you did quite easily continue all night. This was obviously an American product so some of the words and phrases were quite easy to guess. E.g. Dummy - baby and suck weren't taboo and Graduation - University and degree weren't taboo. Aside from this it's an excellent addition to our games night cupboard.

I bought this as I'd played it a few times before and I wanted to take it to our family's next game night :) we had hours of fun (we literally played it for about four hours straight- there is plenty of cards with over 1000 words). Be aware you might get very angry with your partner if they cannot describe the words, there was a lot of shouting and fall outs :) Very easy to grasp the rules, overall a great game!

I enjoyed playing Taboo years ago so I bought this game for Christmas. The whole family enjoyed it!

If you are not a trivail pursuit/table-quiz fan then this game is for you! A whole different thinking and fun with this word game. Brings a lot of laughter to the table as inner dialouge is revealed in trying to describe words..... one for all the family. And, unbekownst to the young ones, they are actually learning while laughing! ;)

L’ho acquistato per regalarlo, e devo dire che è stato un successo immediato. Taboo è uno di quei giochi che non passano mai di moda: semplice da capire, divertente da giocare e perfetto per serate in compagnia. Le 848 parole da indovinare distribuite su 212 carte garantiscono partite sempre diverse, e le nuove carte ispirate alla cultura pop lo rendono ancora più attuale. Il meccanismo è geniale: bisogna far indovinare una parola senza usare quelle “taboo” elencate sulla carta. Sembra facile… finché non ci si trova sotto pressione con la clessidra che scorre e gli amici pronti a suonare lo squeaker se si sbaglia! Nous avions l'habitude de jouer à ce jeu en Angleterre. C'était super de l'initier à nos ados. La minuterie d'une minute était un peu trop rapide pour nous. Nous avons passé plus de temps à déplacer tous les objets qu'à jouer au jeu, nous avons donc mis 90 secondes sur la minuterie de nos téléphones, ce qui était bien mieux. Soirée tout à fait agréable.

Fabulous Game for the whole family, all ages. A little expensive but should buy.

I knew Taboo before, so it was not a surprise that it turned out to be a 5 star purchase. The game can be played in teams, or even just with two people without keeping score. Language dependent.
