I waited a while before writing this review, as I wanted to make sure that it was long lasting and durable. I love the ease of set up, operation, and the constant display of the current temperature. We will see how durable it is this winter. It is such a great price, I will get another one to take some of the strain of this one this winter. Update: This is my third of these. The first was a test. It worked great. So I ordered another since a different brand heater burned out. Then I purchased this one for another tank. All are running now. I expect they will give me years of good service. I like the current temp, set temp, and wattage display. Very good design.

-TL;DR- Stop searching, buy Hygger, be happy. - These heaters are robust enough to keep my Golden Butterfly Koi pond a balmy 70°F all through the winter; even during extended drops as low as -10°F ambient air temp! I can walk outside with 6" of snow on the ground, and there's my pond, looking like a steamy, little oasis, with very happy, active koi swimming around. I have always been very pleased with the premium design and materials used in their products. For the first time ever, I can comment on the customer service they provide. I have purchased 3 of these 1000W heaters, among other things, from Hygger. I've only ever had an issue one time, and that was recently when one heater stopped working, for no apparent reason. I contacted Hygger via email and they responded so quickly, that I was shocked. After some troubleshooting attempts it was decided that the heater had malfunctioned. It may not have even been due to poor craftsmanship, it could have been a random power surge or whatever. Heck, sometimes stuff just breaks. Regardless, the customer care team immediately jumped into action and here I am, less than a week later with a brand new replacement heater. That's what I call amazing service. Thank you, Hygger. I have used a wide variety of Hygger brand products over the years, from indoor fish tanks, to outdoor koi ponds; I don't even bother searching beyond Hygger, and I recommend them to everyone I know.

Best heater, just stop searching, this is the one. No headache, accuracy, great technology. Got mine about an year ago to fight ick and works perfectly! Im here to buy a bigger one since I upgraded my tank.

Wish this thing worked, it looks great but fails to perform. I placed the 300W heater in a 30 gallon sump, pumps off, and set to 78 degrees. It kicked on and started heating, reaching 78 in about an hour. From there, it's been wildly heating and shutting off. At one point heated to 82 then let it drop to 75 before turning back on. Looking at it now, it's reading 82 degrees while set to 78. Returning it, unfortunately.

Well I was hoping that I wouldn't have to write a review this soon because I was waiting to see how the heater worked at different outdoor temperature throughout the winter season. Well I must say it was great for the 2 months that it worked. I am still giving it 4 stars because as I stated it was great while it worked. This heater maintained a 400 plus gallon pond's water temperature at 55 degrees in outdoor temperatures at 22 degrees and was able to keep my fish happy. Well this morning when I looked out my window , I noticed there was no steam coming from my pond. Upon checking my thermometer I discovered it had died on me. I would like to give 5 stars but due it's short life span, I feel 4 stars is a fair rating.

I purchased this heater two years ago. It has been great. It’s easy to use has been very reliable and the temperature sensor on. It is pretty accurate. Overall I would highly recommend this.

Keeps my fish tank temperature at at accurate temperature levels

Old glass tube heater in my 250G centrarchid/cichlid tank started leaking (one of two), so I replaced them both with the 1000W unit. The armored casing design was why I bought this heater. My fish are large and they get bumpy sometimes… they’ve smashed tube heaters before. This unit is definitely smash-proof, and doesn’t struggle at all keeping my 250G a constant 79F in a room with average an air temp around 68-70F. It was a decent value, and I trust the Hygger name from last good experiences with their aquarium equipment. 10/10… I definitely recommend this heater if you have big fish that rock out on your appliances and decor.

Lo compre para un acuario marino mediano de 280 litros....chulada de calentador, hace correctamente su función al calentar el agua y medir la temperatura, lo único medio malo es que solo puedo configurar la temperatura en grados Fahrenheit y no tiene opción para grados Celsius que aquí en MX es lo que tenemos, pero como tengo un termómetro alterno para medir la temperatura y este si trae ambos pues me facilita la conversión y confirmar la correcta temperatura, su tamaño es un poco grande validen el espacio a donde ponerlo y su color anaranjado hace que resalte, pero si tienen opción de colocarlo en un filtro externo fuera de la pecera seria ideal. Lo recomiendo, a mi me gusto y funciono bastante bien....calienta el agua muy rápido.

Excellent produit. Fonctionne parfaitement. Chauffe rapidement. Je l’utilise dans un aquarium 90 gallons et il maintient parfaitement la température. Affichage facile à lire. Facile à utiliser et à ajuster. Identique à la description et aux photos. Vraiment très satisfait!

Good size and easy to install. Works great
