It works a treat on my tap, but I can't fit it in to my hose pipe. What size hose should I be using please?

No matter the size of hose, it can't be directly fitted to the Universal Tap Connector Adapter without another type of adaptor going in between. Because the UTCA has a male fitting, the hose will need a separate adaptor attached to it with a female fitting (a part usually supplied with new hoses). When the 2 adaptors are then pushed together, the male fitting should slot inside the other to lock into position, and to separate are then pulled apart. But I do miss the old-fashioned way of being able to simply push a rubbery end of a hose pipe over the end of a tap like a sleeve, no matter what style or shape of tap with no need for adaptors.

i dont have threads on my tap its just smooth and round My last hose had a Hozelock round mixer tap but that just came off constantly,What do i buy ?

My daughter uses this on her kitchen and bathroom taps which dont have threads either.. it goes over the tap and sits just underneath the tap hole if that makes sense.. The orange lever is pulled down which locks it onto the tap . The water goes through the white round washer bit that you can see on the diagram. Then the connector on the end of her hose just clicks on.

Will this fit a 2.75cm diameter kitchen mono-block tap?

Well mine is a mono-block tap and the washer on the connector is 3cm diameter across. So with a little bit of jiggling to make sure the tap casting doesn't block the hole, you should be all right.

Will this fit a 1/2" or 3/4" hose end connector?

It depends on the size of the connector fitting i have a flexible hose with brass fittings and you can use a different tap fitting on it.
