Excellent, safe and easy to setup
It's always a bit hit and miss when you're buying products like this online, what may work for one person's doorway may not necessarily work for someone else. However, I can happily say that this product arrived in good time (given that it wasn't available for Prime delivery), was packaged well and most importantly - does what it is meant to do. Pro's: - Set up is a doddle. No holes need to be made, simply fold out the two handles and place them above your doorway! - Protection is good - comes with two rubber protectors on either side of the bar to protect the door frame - I'm not super heavy, but definitely not a lightweight either. I've been using this for the past week and a half and have not had any concern when lifting myself up. The bar remains solid and trustworthy. - No marks on the door frame after use Con's: Nothing to speak of! This bar can be used for pull ups and chin ups, the latter usually being the easiest for most people as it focuses on biceps rather than your lats. I've already seen vast improvement in the number of chin ups and pull ups I can do. A great place for tutorials can be found on YouTube (I recommend Scooby's channel). Overall, a great solid product which I would recommend to anyone.

Great solid pull-up bars
Really quite impressed with this pull-up bar. It comes flat in a box but doesn't actually require any assembly at all: you simply unfold the spring loaded arms, hooking it onto the doorframe, adjust the rubbery pads and away you go. The bar is really quite stable on the frame and, despite my worries, has not damaged the architrave. In fact, it seems the design puts most of the force onto the sides of the doorframe. I would imagine it would work under pressure even without the hooky parts (though wouldn't want to try it). Despite there being two horizontal bars, the instructions says not to use the bottom one as the leverage on the upper bar is what's holding it secure. As other reviews have stated, the bar is a tad thin without any padding. Personally I really don't mind this, but it would be trivial to add some cheap bicycle or racquet tape to add padding, or maybe a packet of pitas. The fact the equipment can be folded flat is a real bonus. You can unhook, fold the arms flat and stow it away under a bed or behind a cupboard in a matter of seconds. The only issue I've had with this is there's not much tolerance with the size. The arms will only suit standard sized architrave: if you have a particularly thick doorframe they might not reach. Plus the arms are fixed in place, so you can't adjust them to the width of your doorway. Also the horizontal bars protrude either side, so you can't have corners or walls to the sides. Further, to get the arms through, you have to have the door well open, so if you're planning on using this with a small room make sure you can open the door fully. In my house, I've found there's only one doorway it'll actually fit, as the doorway I was planning on using is smaller than the one I measured (doh) and many of the others have obstructions: walls, staircase or eaves in the way. All in all, very impressed with this bit of kit. Now I just have to make sure I use it regularly.

A really good product. I don't usually write reviews but after ...
A really good product. I don't usually write reviews but after reading many for this item before I bought it, I thought I needed to share my opinion aswel. Firstly its incredibly easy to set up, literally can take it out of the box and un-fold two hinges and it's ready to be hooked onto a door frame. Secondly it's much better than so many that I have tried in the past due to the fact that it allows you to do pull-ups which are wider than the door frame you are using. There is a very small downside however, but nothing major. There are no grips on the actual bar which can hurt the palms of your hands a little after a few reps. Some people may be harshly reviewing this, and other, similar products due to two reasons. Either the bar they buy does not fit the door they want to use it on (I did not have this issue and I tried in on three different sized door frames) or they begin to use it and it damages the door-frame or subsequently the paintwork. All I can say is that you should test out the door-frame your going to use it on before you buy it. If it is sturdy and your paintwork/ dรฉcor isn't brittle, it won't do any damage. The hooks work well on the opposite side and also the pads on the side facing you when you use it. I feel like I've already said a bit much so in conclusion, it works really well, granted your door frame is sturdy.

Fantastic product
I was dubious about buying a chin up bar after reading some terrible reviews about the telescopic ones, and being concerned I was going to either wreck my door or do myself an injury. Having spent a bit of time doing some research, I took the plunge and ordered the Powerbar 2, and I must say it's a fantastically designed and built piece of kit. I'd read some positive articles about the benefits and results that can be achieved doing chin ups and pull ups, but I would say that you shouldn't expect to be able to do 10 chin ups in a row on your first effort. I started off barely managing to do 2, then got up to 3, and it's slowly increasing the more I use it. The device itself folds away flat for storage, and can also be used as a press-up bar by laying it on the ground. I was apprehensive about lifting my feet off the ground and putting my full weight on the bar at first in case it fell off the door frame or snapped, but I needn't have worried. It's solid, and spreads your weight ingeniously across the door facings without leaving any marks or scuffs. All in all, a great product at a good price (it was cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else I searched) and if you put the effort in you'll reap the rewards. Delivery was prompt from the seller too, which is always a bonus.

Awesome, best on market
I browsed long and hard for a decent one as pull ups are one of my favourite exercises. I did have a compression one but wanted to upgrade. So I saw these funky ones that don't require any fixings i.e. the and the iron gym (amongst others). This products unique selling point over others of this type is that it gives you extra height off the ground. This is a massive plus. Not only this, but because the bar is positioned away from the doorway you can fully extend over the bar. These two combined mean that pull ups can be completed correctly from a dead hang position up through to the chin comfortably over the bar. The bar requires no assembly or fixings which mean it can be flat packed instantly, stored, or used on other door frames easily. This makes this product awesome. However there are some negatives to point out, regardless I have still given this product a top review because it is the best on the market. There are no grips, which is absolutely fine until your palms get a bit moist, then you end up clinging on with your fingertips so some gloves may be a good investment. Some of the fine touches around the arms look a bit shabby where they rotate from the support stems, so I hope this will not hinder the product over time through frequent rotation. Furthermore, there has been no damage caused to the door frame. For what its worth, I am 72kg and 6 foot. I would strongly recommend this product. The price may be steeper than others i.e. the iron gym, but this is far superior.

Decent and good value.
Well, I took a punt and bought this thinking that it may not fit my doorframe but that it just may work if I was lucky. Genius. It works and fits perfectly. I am not impressed by things easily but this is pretty decent and good value. The delivery was crazily quick and no problems with the package. You literally rip it out of the box and it's good to be put up straight away. I live in a new apartment complex with the usual, generic door frames and this fits perfectly. Note that only the two top bits of the product actually fit onto the top of the doorframe. The weight is then spread out over the rest of the apparatus. I am 75-80kg and the feel of it was perfect. When doing the actual chin-ups there is little to no movement and it feels solid. As other people have suggested it would be wise to use weight or cycling gloves as the bar can be a bit painful after a few chin-ups. This is a small point though. On the whole, and for the price, this is a good bit of kit. Recommended.

So worth it....buy it!
I looked around for a long time on Amazon for one of these but all the top recommended Prime ones had a mixture of good and bad reviews. I ended up finding this and while you pay for shipping, the price is worth it, it's a steal in my opinion. It came a week earlier than expected, no setting up, it's already ready to go. It's great quality, sturdy, fits in my doorway. I even hang my wooden Olympic rings on the bar, like one other reviewer showed in a photo and it's literally my little home gym now haha. I work from home and was doing a lot of sedentary work, so I now have my standing desk along with this! Every hour an alarm goes off and I stop work, go do a few pull-ups then get back to business. Great way to increase your strength at home in addition to going to the gym.

It's ok i guess..
I unpacked it to find one of the spring loaded brackets doesn't pop in to place like it's supposed to which is a shame. The bar still hangs on the door fine but i think it might be damaging the wall due to the doorway being quite thin, the bar hanging at a steeper angle and consequently putting more pressure on the top of the frame. I am in halls at university so the whole idea of getting this was to not damage the doorway and receive a fine at the end of the year but i guess we shall see what happens when i keep using it :) As a pull up bar it is very good, quick to put up and take down. Just check that your doorway isn't made entirely out of plasterboard like mine seems to be!
