Easy to mask flavour, great alternative to the large tablets
Purchased because I could no longer swallow the huge tablets. I found the easiest way to take it and mask the flavour was to add the powder to about 50-100 ml of tepid water and give it a good stir to dissolve, then add a sharp juice, Cranberry works exceptionally well, (also tried tomato, and orange/carrot/turmeric with great results) up to 100-125ml and stir again, and drink immediately. I would definitely buy this again.

Great stuff for cat flu
I use this in small amounts to help my Burmese cat with his cat flu flares, it does seem to help take the symptoms down if I can get him to eat it. It's extremely bitter to taste (I know I've tried some) and is so strong it makes any food taste a little funky. I tend to give him a small amount on a tiny rolled up piece of ham, he'll only eat it that way. I have to say though it does help when I can get him to eat it. A great product, in such a huge pot even for human consumption it'd last a long time. Fab product overall. One star down for the taste, although I don't think that can be helped it's just because it's such a pure product.

Did nothing to combat genital herpes
This made no difference to genital herpes, even when taking in high doses. Much prefer the Solgar 1000mg tablets and can see an instant difference when taking those, compared to this! A shame.

Also suitable for cats with Feline Calici / Herpes Virus
I'm not using this to supplement my diet as I eat enough beans, cheese and yoghurt already. However, my cat Bennie has been diagnosed with Feline Calicivirus (FCV) which is a sort of cat flu that recurs. Many cats carry this virus and just spread it around and never fall sick but as my cat was a mistreated RSPCA rescue cat his ability to fight FCV off was compromised. So Lysine to the rescue! Giving 1/4 of a teaspoon (about 1/2 gram) acts as a protein building block not a drug and *assists* Bennie in fighting of the effects of the Calicivirus or Herpes virus when it attacks. Bennie's symptoms are sneezing, runny eyes - typical 'common cold' symptoms in a human.Lysine helps Bennie trick the virus into self-destructing by using this L-lysine instead of its preferred protein Arginine. Since starting this his early symptoms disappear almost immediately. Was it the Lysine or one of the other homeopathic remedies (including Vitamin C) we use? I don't know but I'm not going to stop using this just to find out. It's only necessary when we spot the tell-tale signs of an infection and this powder is reasonably bland enough to hide in his food. Given the small dosage for a cat this pack will last for some time. Any excess is excreted out so it harmless if not required.Good value and perfectly safe and Bennie say 'Great'!

No Idea if it Works
I thought I was getting powder this is more of a grit like texture. I am unsure of the overall benefits so it gets 3 stars.

My fussy cats don't fuss.
I brought this for my cats, two are 13yrs, that is NOT old whatever the vet says. One is getting a random sneezy few days now and then, started with products specifically for this problem in cats which he really liked but it didn't last long and it's not cheap when added up how many times I've had to buy. I ummmed & ahhhhed about trying this, thought I'd give it a go. When it arrived I wondered what it tasted like as it is for people, well "bitter bitter and thrice bitter"! OMG why would anyone with mental capacity buy this for themselves for any reason why? (No odour at all, figure that?) Anyway I thought this is a waste of time my fussy (tiny bit spoilt) cats will NEVER touch this and honesty I wouldn't blame them. Well lo & behold I'm surprised all three cats, two 13yr old moggies (not derogatory in our house) and one posh expensive pedigree (not special in our house) 6 years old pay no attention at all. Well cats are better than people. Luv them.P.s I sprinkle about 1/4 tsp on wet or dry food twice a day breakfast & teatime for each cat.
