This is not only good for my daughter's hair, which is afro type hair. Not very course but quite tight curls if not moisturised. This also is find helps her skin, i have noticed when I use different products on her hair it can bring her face out in spot's. Maybe as product can fall or seep down onto skin. Or when asleep on her pillow. Believe it or not these products help with her skin. I use the shampoo & condition aswell. Over all great hair care, would be nice for bigger pot's or maybe abit cheaper prices.. Also this is quite watery consistency, so I transfer it to another bottle. Regards I hope this helps 🥰

Love this product, I'm mixed raced with 3B hair and it defines my curls beautifully. The gel isn't too thick and smells lovely but it's easy to use too much and your hair can end up being a bit stiff... Easily crunched out though. Doesn't leave any nasty residue in your hair either. Now as for the price, I know a lot of people say about its very expensive but you're paying for quality as it does have some lovely ingredients. I've just had a baby so don't have the kind of money to spend on stuff like this anymore (isn't life fun) but when I do I will treat myself to it and buy again. Bought this and the as I am double butter cream and I love love love them.

to call it a jelly is not the right way to describe it, it is more of a liquid. it doesnt define or hold that well but the aroma is magnificent but it does somewhat define. High quality. It does dry quick making curls bouncy and non greasy which is VERY nice.

Love this product. It is a little pricey, but worth it. It is very light on your hair so doesn't feel like your hairs being caked with product but has great hold. I use it with the as I am leave in conditioner too. And my hair feels bouncy and is still in place (mostly) by the end of the day (and I run around with a toddler all day) also smells great! 😁

Not for 4C this Afro hair, this product didn’t do anything to my hair, having used it on a thoroughly washed and conditioned hair. It may be for other soft textured curly hair but certainly not for thick Afro hair. On top of that, it’s expensive as you only get a small tab. Updated review: I have added 2 stars to my initial review and the reason being that, it has left my hair so moisturised and soft for days, the stickiness of the product is gone and my hair feels so soft to touch. Also, it didn’t flake on me at all, and I can feel some coils from underneath my hair when I touch it though not many curls are showing when you look at my hair. Like I said, it may work perfectly for people with slightly looser curly patterns when it comes to curl definition, but for moisture, it’s great even for thick 4C hairs like mine.

I have fine curly hair (mostly 3a) and recently started following the Curly Girl Method. I've struggled with getting definition and the Cantu curl cream was a little too heavy to put on my hair (although it works fine for a light damp refresh). I washed my hair today using this after leave in conditioner spray (Imbue) and before gel. Finally I've got defined curls that aren't weighed down! It's light and easy to make sure you don't get too much on your hands. I didn't coil with brush or fingers and have fully formed ringlets. This stuff is magic, and should last me ages!

Sadly, this gel isn't as good as it used to be. The formula seems to have changed, and it doesn't define or hold my curls like it did before. I also noticed the smell is completely different now—it honestly reminds me of my hand wash rather than a hair product. Very disappointing, as this used to be one of my favourite curl gels. I won't be buying it again unless they bring back the original formula.

As a black woman only recently embracing my natural hair, this stuff is a godsend. My hair is type 3. I wash with a non sulfate shampoo, use leave in conditioner to detangle and comb through and then section my hair and put this bad boy all over. Not a lot is needed and although I have a full head of hair, a tub goes a long way. When it is all dry, my hair doesn’t feel hair or crunchy (although it does freeze my curls and coils in their natural form) and two days later I may only need a refresh (curl activator mixed with water and spritzed over whole head) and to cover/wrap at night. Game changer.

My naturally- sometimes frizzy!! hair loves this stuff. It allows me to dry my hair naturally and leaves it so soft. I've learnt to embrace those curls.

Muy recomendable si tienes el pelo rizado o ondulado y buscas definir los rizos sin que queden duros o apelmazados. Este Curling Jelly de As I Am nos ha parecido bastante bueno para definir el rizo de forma natural. En nuestro caso lo hemos usado sobre el pelo húmedo y ayuda bastante a marcar la forma del rizo sin dejar ese efecto “cartón” que tienen algunos geles. Lo que más nos ha gustado es que define bastante bien y mantiene la forma durante el día, sobre todo si se usa con una buena técnica de secado o difusor. El rizo queda más ordenado y con menos encrespamiento. También se nota que no es un producto pesado, por lo que no deja el pelo apelmazado si se aplica la cantidad justa. Como punto menos positivo, si te pasas con la cantidad puede dejar algo de residuo o sensación pegajosa, y en cabellos muy finos hay que aplicarlo con cuidado para no sobrecargar. En general, es un buen gel para definir rizos de forma natural y mantenerlos controlados durante el día. Pros: * Buena definición del rizo * No deja el pelo rígido tipo “cartón” * Reduce el encrespamiento * Ligero si se usa bien * Aguanta bien durante el día Contras: * Puede dejar residuos si se usa demasiado * Algo pegajoso con exceso de producto * Requiere ajustar cantidad según tipo de pelo Conclusión: Muy buena opción para definir rizos de forma natural y mantenerlos controlados sin perder movimiento.
