can you used this on a router table?

Yes you can the only thing need to do is the power on switch does not have a button to hold it on what I did was to connect the power to on off switch and use a cable tie to hold the switch in on the router and it works fine Hope this answers your question. Paul

What is the maximum router bit diameter for this model please?

Due to the conflicting answers, I thought I would clarify. The router comes with an 8mm bit, which appears to be the largest size it will accept. It also works fine with the smaller 6mm and 1/4" bits (I have used them all)

Will I need a router table to create dove tail joints or can i do it on a standard workmate table?

To create dovetail joints I think you would be wise to research dovetail jigs without which you will find it impossible to cut accurate dovetails. Dependent on the type of jig you use, a workmate table may be enough to support the jig. I would suggest you don't invest in cutters until you have researched the subject more thoroughly.

what is the outside diameter of the template guide supplied with this router

At this stage, I've mixed up the guide that was included with several other Bosch guides I have, so I'm not 100% certain..BUT...the part number of the included guide is Template guide (2 609 200 138) and that corresponds with 13mm in Bosch's catalogue. Hope that helps.
