Cristal Original Ballpoint Pens, Smudge-free with Medium Point (1.0 mm), Black, Ideal for Office and School, Pack of 10

TL;DR: Buy this ballpoint pen if you intend to write a reasonable amount. SUMMARY Got a ten-pack of black 0.4mm/1.0mm types in May 2024, works out around GBP 0.33 per pen. Likely the best ballpoint pen available, could spend many times more for an inferior pen. Have used for decades and they write well. Take ages to dry out (years, maybe decades). For note taking (at work or in general matters) these are ideal. RARELY LEAK Occasional failures from long term storage with nib(?) point up and ink leaking into the containment area, if that happens it is rare for the ink to escape and it is obvious from a glance that a (generally slow moving) failure is happening. If memory serves, a pen of this make that has *never* been used does not fail this way. Do not recall them leaking heavily into clothing, obviously don’t leave these pens in clothes when washing or storing clothing. The ink is (in my experience) permanent, ie not washable. DRAWBACKS These pens do not clip into pockets well and the caps can go astray, but am willing to accept these inconveniences as the positives outweigh the negatives. ALTERNATIVES The only modern pens that are superior in some aspects are the ones you can rub out the writing with a sort of rubber, good for note taking, annotations, composing text / calculations etc (ie for formal studying), but they have their own set of problems and are sort of an alternative/equivalent to pencils. SENTIMENTALITY I preferred the old Bic pen caps that were closed, but the “new” style is safer. Like the idea of fountains pens, but these Bic jobs are classics for good reasons.

WOW amazing. i was always the person who never had a pen, until one day i decided to fix that. Affordable, feels good, smooth writing. huzzah!

Pens seem to be the genuine BIC pens and all work fine. However, the order took a week and a half to arrive - which is ridiculous. Also, the pens arrived in the normal post and were loose, so not even in the original package. For that I have deducted a star, as this could have been shipped much quicker!

Great pens, work well

I purchased these for my small business because I need to use black pen for most correspondence, forms and labels and didn't want to run out. Good value pack of trusted bic ballpoint pens, they last well are easy to use and great for any business which needs to have black ink to sign documents with. The multipack means I can have them dotted around and carry one with me so I am never without a pen. Recommend.

Good quality pens in black, Would like to see more eco packaging however. But they do the job and a great price too

I watched a YouTube video of BIC crystal pen. It's history and how it changed the mind of several people who moved away from ink pens and adapted this pen. I couldn't find this in any local store so I bought it from Amazon. I must say, it's a very smooth writing pen.
