Each pair has lasted about 3 years with average daily walking on concrete. After 3 years the heal has worn down to the spongy material inside it, do it is time to replace it then. These shoes have never had any of the problems that other shoes have had, such as shoe laces that don't stay tied, squeaks and uncomfortable when new. The arches are just average, which is perfect for my somewhat flat feet. They may not be as good for someone with high arches unless you put in extra arch support. We went on a bike tour of London recently and we had rain the entire time, thus my shoes got super wet, but within a few hours they were pretty much dry. These are very well made and the Vibram sole is great. These shoes are very durable. I use them for daily walking or occasional trail running. They do tend to get dirty easily when on dusty trails, but they do clean up nicely. I wear a size 10 shoe and these fit and were very comfortable right off the bat, there was no break-in period for me. If your feet love Merrell's, then I highly recommend these.

Great for trails and just walking around
Overall I like the moab vent 2. They are great for the trails I take. Good grip good tow box feel (I have regulate width not wides or narrows) My only complaint is that I feel it doesn't lock perfectly around my ankle and heel but I'm 95% sure it is the way I tie the laces Tl;dr great shoes, tons of grip and stability, ample room where it matters, make sure you tie the laces correctly for you.

Sold my car and got these
They are great shoes. I can walk a long way and my legs abd back dont hurt like they usually do when i wear my other shoes. I would get these again or at least another pair of merrils. I had considered getting them last year and didnt but now i wish i had. Update... I'm on my 3rd pair now. Still not driving.

Versatile
I have used this model for work and for hikes. Right now mainly for work that can be indoor or outdoor depending on the day. Great traction outdoor and incredibly comfortable indoor or outdoor.

Good overall light hiker that is extremely breathable
This light hiker is well suited for walking, gym, hiking, scrambling or just wearing around the house as a knock around shoe as it offers good foot support and comfort. It requires no break in time and is extremely breathable, making it a good choice for hiking in a hot, dry weather environment such as is found here in Las Vegas. The Vibram sole is extremely tough and flexible and strikes a nice balance between durability and good surface grip on a variety of terrain. Best of all, I purchased this boot through Amazon for HALF the price that the local Sports/Athletic stores sell them!

A Great Shoe
I bought my first pair of Merrell's over 20 years ago. I love the way they fit and feel on my feet. They're light and provide excellent support. I bought an inexpensive pair of shoes at Walmart for working in the yard. They were size 10. I ordered the Merrell in a size 10 and it fit perfectly. I highly recommend Merrell shoes.

I have had about 3 pairs of successive genrations of Merrell Moab's over the last decade. While these don't seem to have quite as heavy duty construction, these fit just as well as the other two. I have read several reviews that Merrell has changed the fit over the years, but not for me. I ordered my exact same size and they fit just as always. I also appreciate also that they still have the same Vibram sole.

my hubby and I bought a different colour a few years back and we both like them alot. He liked them so much that he started to wear them on the job so he asked me to buy him a back up pair which was these. The black ones were much cheaper than the others we bought so they are a great deal.
