The Digital Helix- Informative!
The Digital Helix is a book on the importance of technology and change. It tells us how to use technology to the best manner in our life. Numerous stories are shard such as the group of four ladies in Uganda who found a cheap and easy diagnostic tool for the deadly sickle cell anemia. There are also examples of business leaders who thought out of the ordinary and implemented innovative technological changes to lead their company to become market leaders. The trick was to catch and implement the change early and to know which technology would be good for their organizations. Of course there were mistakes and perils which cost some companies millions of dollars in losses, but ultimately the companies were able to recover and move out of these failures towards phenomenal successes because they were able to understand and use the advantage of digital. However, not all digital advancement is good. Any digital spice or flavor is wasted in the absence of organization, coherence, unity and building of congruent digitally oriented strategy. The book is very interesting and informative as it leads us through the digital helix. However, sometimes I felt that the book was a little lengthy and took more words to prove its point. Still, there are gems of wisdom present that makes this book really useful

This book is vital to any season business looking to attract new young talent and keep up with the times. I am in my 20s and I have completed internships, worked, and completed freelance work for a number of companies looking to attract my age group and keep up with the ever changing technology. Sometimes it works out great, sometimes it seems like they are just incorporating technology for the sake of technology. This guide is what makes the difference.Their explanation for what digital presence is and is not, really forces you to analyze the meaning behind why companies do what they do. It puts technology into perspective, by referencing how it is supposed to help your company rather than just keep you up with the times or replicating what a competitor does. I think this is probably very common with a lot of companies, especially those older ones who have trouble “learning new tricks”. It is helpful for those folks and us just entering the workforce. For those of us that grew up with technology now can learn how to combine it with business in ways never taught before. Even if you are a staff level employee, this book brings up plenty opportunity for discussion at your company on how to make it better for everyone. Totally worth a read.

Really good stuff
This is a really good book, and will help guide you along your own personal “web journey”, whatever that may be. The truth is, the world of business and communication is rapidly changing, and there are no if’s and’s or but’s about it that you’ll get left in the dust if you don’t learn to keep up with online competition in terms of digital marketing, networking, traffic management, content development, and site building. I bought this book as a resource for a niche .com startup, and it honestly is chock-full of information that I’ll directly be putting to use. The material on how to incorporate accessible data into your content curation and content-development techniques are especially critically. Google is the contemporary encyclopedia - if you don’t know how to access and use the data contained within, your relevant knowledge will be severely marginalized. This book will genuinely help make your digital presence become (and stay) relevant in an increasingly-competitive online world.

Full of great information
I highly recommend this book to any business owner who is looking to expand their business to any level. The authors teach business men and women how to create a powerful digital presence that will allow them to touch anyone over the globe. As the book states only 20% of businesses have successfully created their digital footprint, I find that understandable since so much goes into creating that outstanding presence. This book lays it all out in aa road map style to teach people exactly what they need to do and when they need to do it to create the perfect digital presence that can make a company rise above the rest. This is by far the best book I’ve read for this type of business growth, it’s full of useful ideas, tips and tricks that are effective and east to follow.

Great book!
The Digital Helix: Transforming Your Organization's DNA to Thrive in the Digital Age written by Michael Gale and Chris Aarons is a very in-depth “how to” book that gives insight and advice on changes to make to your organization or business in order to help it thrive in today’s digital age. I was very surprised at how much information was packed into this short book and even more impressed with how thoughtful the information was. The authors definitely know what they are talking about and everything explained in the book makes perfect sense when trying to bring an old school business or organization into the future that is now. We can’t expect a business to change overnight but using the different techniques and suggestions in this book will help any leader take control and start on their way to making their business or organization more digitally appropriate. In order for a business to be successful today, a large part of their business needs to be digitally sound in order to have the best communication possible between consumer/business and manager/staff. This was a great read and one that I highly recommend to any person looking to start a business, currently owns a business, or works in a position of management.
