I purchased our second Petlibro water fountain in March 2026, the PLWF116 cordless model, which we leave plugged into its low-voltage USB charger and operating continuously 24/7. We have never had a problem with either unit. Both are so quiet that I can't hear them operating. However, I did need to contact customer support because the new PLWF116 seemed to operate a little differently from our older PLWF115 cordless unit. Both models use a motion sensor to turn the fountain on and off when operating on battery power (such as when unplugged or during a power outage). Initially, I thought the older PLWF115 operated continuously when unplugged, while the newer PLWF116 required motion to activate. After calling support, they explained how the unit was designed to operate, and we confirmed its behavior together over the phone. It is possible the older unit actually operates the same way. When I tested it, I was already standing in front of the fountain when I unplugged it. I repeated the same test with the new PLWF116. It stopped immediately after being unplugged, then restarted as soon as I moved in front of it a second time. In the end, I was satisfied to learn that our cats will still have access to fresh, running water during a power outage, while the battery is powering the fountain.

Wonderful pet drinking fountain. Solves all of the problems we have had with previous pet fountains. 1. Quiet: no noise is great for your home and your pet. I truly do not hear anything. 2. No pump design. The lack of a traditional impeller design pump prevents build up of gunk and slime. 3. Filter for clean water and to filter out food bits. This is usually a problem with many pet fountains. 4. Cordless and wireless design means this can be moved and placed anywhere. 5. This solved the main issue I had with my cat: he could not easily drink from the sinks. They were either uncomfortable for him or he was hesitating from the stream. 6. The app is nice to show you when they drink from the fountain (subscription) but also to remind you to clean, charge the fountain, clean the filter, etc. 5/5 stars, no complaints. This checks off all boxes and so far solves all issues of previous fountains.

My cat drinks so much more water than she ever has before we purchased this Petlibro fountain! It is super quiet and easy to clean. I clean it 2 times a week by hand. The stainless steel is smooth and feel like durable quality. Directions were easy to follow. I do not scrub the white plastic base with a bottle brush or sponge so there is no chance of scratches that could become areas to capture any build up. I do use a straw/ water bottle brush for the small parts and it cleans up quickly. My cat actually stares at me, until I return her fountain promptly.... that is how much she loves it. I also love that it tells my phone the time of day she visits the fountain and how much she drinks in ounces. The inside container has clearly marked water lines. I would have a 2nd one if I had room for another fountain. For the price, I would purchase this again. Do I wish the base was stainless steel too? yes. but I know there are different "grades" of stainless steel and I am not an expert. I can tell you without a doubt, this has been a game changer. Our cat's kidney function levels are healthy in her bloodwork last month. The vet was concerned about her kidneys as she needs steroid shots for a skin condition she has. She is allergic to all foods we have tried. She can tolerate an expensive hydrolyzed food only. Otherwise she is covered in hot spots and her hair falls out, and she will even begin to develop painful sores that bleed. I have found since we have purchased this fountain just a few months ago, she seems to be healthier and her coat is more shiny. She is more active and less lethargic all day.

I originally bought this fountain because one of my cats is on medication that causes her to drink more water, and we’re also monitoring her kidney health. I wanted a way to accurately track her water intake, and at first, this fountain did exactly that. The tracking seemed fairly accurate, and it gave me peace of mind. Unfortunately, things went downhill over time. First, the app is incredibly frustrating to navigate. I’m Gen Z and very comfortable with technology, yet I still found the interface confusing. When I adopted a second cat and tried managing both pets in the app, it became even more difficult. After less than a year of use, the tracking has become extremely unreliable. There are days when neither cat’s water intake is recorded at all, despite recalibrating the fountain multiple times. On the flip side, I’ll sometimes receive notifications saying a cat is drinking while both of them are sitting right next to me nowhere near the fountain. At that point, the entire reason I purchased this product became useless. Customer service was just as disappointing. It took over two weeks to receive a response to my email, and figuring out the correct department to contact was a headache in itself. When they finally replied, they asked me to provide video evidence of the issues. They wanted me to record my cat drinking when the fountain failed to log it, and also capture instances where the fountain falsely recorded a drink when no cat was using it. That request felt completely unreasonable. My husband and I both work full time, and our cats usually drink when we’re not even in the room. Sitting around waiting to hopefully catch one of these random events isn’t realistic. Even if I managed to record it, the notifications and the video timestamps wouldn’t necessarily line up, so the footage wouldn’t actually prove anything. What frustrated me most was that they never offered meaningful troubleshooting, a replacement, or any real attempt to resolve the issue. They simply kept asking for evidence that would be nearly impossible for the average customer to provide. I’ve also had frustrating experiences with Petlibro’s automatic feeders, so unfortunately this isn’t an isolated issue for me. Another aspect I really dislike is Petlibro’s business model. You buy an expensive smart device, only to discover that many of the better features are locked behind a monthly subscription. It feels like you’re constantly being asked to spend more money after already purchasing the product. On top of that, you’re expected to regularly replace filters. While the filters themselves aren’t very expensive, I recommend buying compatible third-party filters since they’re significantly more affordable and work just as well. Overall, I kept this fountain because I love the idea behind it, but the execution has been disappointing. A smart water fountain is only valuable if the tracking is reliable, and unfortunately, mine hasn’t been. If I could go back, I would have purchased a different brand.

Fantabulous water fountain. I am so happy. Cats are drinking lots of water. There is no sound. It looks perfect and chic. The material of product is aesthetically beautiful and durable. The filtration is quiet and performative. Cleaning and set up easy and efficient. Great fountain.

To say I was skeptical of this product would be an understatement. I needed a new water bowl for my 3 furballs. I wasn't sure how if the fountain stopped working how would they get water... So with that knowledge I went for the cordless battery operated one. I leave it plugged in all the time, but I do enjoy the option of the backup battery. I have tested it both ways. My furballs prefer the water to constantly be running, but will still drink. I can get the water fountain to last 13 days before I need to refill. A couple things I would caution you on: --- if its not actively running the water bowl that they drink from is bone dry, till they walk up and set off the sensor. OR the 45seconds every hour to move the water. --- if the water is below the minimum line, water has a hard time shooting up thru the fountain. (there is about an Inch of water left in the bowl give or take) --- 2 weeks to replace the filters. (with 3 animals...yeah... its 2 weeks) --- make sure you THOROUGHLY clean it. Wipe down all the grime and slime each time. --- DO NOT get the base wet. Other than that it is SUUUPER Quiet, easy to clean, you get notifications on how much has been drank for the day, unfortunately unless you have an RFID chip you will not know who is who drinking. So if thats important to you, then look for the RFID thing. All in all, I do actually recommend this product. I have to refill way less than their other bowl. and since the water is "hidden" it's less likely for bugs to get in. I love the notifications so I know the water levels. The reason it has 4 stars is because, if it gets too low, the fountain will go into what I call "sensor mode", and the bowl gets dry, then has a hard time coming out of the spout. Luckily it has not happened a lot to have to worry, but still a concern if they decided to drink like it was going out of style and was not around to fill it up, and it does not replace having to have an additional open water bowl.

I wish all products were built as well as this water fountain. This product is absolutely perfect and I’m completely sold on the brand 100% just from this one product. It’s quiet, it’s Bluetooth, it’s COMPLETELY CLEANABLE WITH NO ELECTRONICS IN DANGER! This is HUGE. Usually these types of products you have to keep a cord out of the way and the little motors break constantly. You can remove each piece and scrub each piece without worrying about breaking a cheap little motor. This product is not built to trash after a couple of months. It’s a real quality product. I would ABSOLUTELY buy again and will always recommend this to others. Can’t recommend enough!

My cats love this fountain. It was easy to set up and stays pretty clean. There was no adjustment period for my babies to use it. They took to it immediately. I’m very pleased. My husband owns a pet store and I told him to start stocking this brand! It’s very quiet and I’ve been using it 3 months.
