It's StewMac, So You Know It'll Do The Job.
Decided I wanted to build myself a vintage looking Telecaster. Found this template and purchased. It's StewMac so you know the quality should be good. Now, it may seem as a little pricey to some folks, but as a hobbyist having a template such as this is a huge win in both time and money. Can I make my own template? Sure. Do I want to? No. Can I use this to make my own template to keep if from getting roughed up? You bet. This is acrylic, so you need to be careful with it. Overall though I'm super happy, especially with the pickup templates, as I feel a dual EMG humbucker variant coming on... :)

Tons of help on a first tele build
Great for building a tele. A little expensive, but a real time saver.

Good template, right down to the vintage router hump
This acrylic template looks great, and I am really looking forward to using it to build my first telecaster body. They even included the router hump from vintage telecasters. As you can see in the photos, there is an extra chunk of acrylic in the curve right below the neck, and the line under it as to where the curve should go so you can opt to include or not.

Zero quality control
I waited two weeks to receive this. The outer body contour of the template is slightly squared in some sections, not a smooth curve and beside the heel they missed cutting out an entire section. My first purchase from Stew Mac and most expensive template purchase. Very disappointed. Other cheap mdf templates were cut far better than this.

It's okay, not great and expensive
I did not like the template for the neck pocket when compared to how a "full body sized" mdf template is typically made for the neck pocket. Making the whole template out of acrylic makes it overly expensive and it chips and cracks much easier than mdf. When I used a 1/8" center punch to locate the holes I found there was too much play to accurately align the holes to my standards. This template is probably okay for the weekend hobbyist although pricey, but really not good enough for someone who wants to sell their finished guitars. Really the only advantage to the acrylic is the centerline but it's not worth the extra expense
