How to go from 5 stars to zero in 2 weeks
OXO means quality, right? Reasonable to pay a bit extra, right? It looks pretty, easy to install. All silicone, 3 parts, with a silver look on the drain cover. But, it can no longer close the drain if you want to fill the sink with water. It's just decorative to hide the hair catcher on the underside.. It does a great job collecting hair or debris but, and it's a big but, it's very difficult to clean. Within 2 weeks the drain catcher parts will be solid black mold that you get to try soaking and scrubbing dozens of holes, and multi groove components, but you will fail. You can soak it in bleach, oxy or tile cleaner, nothing makes it clean again. But every 2 weeks you'll be trying again. I held OXO up as quality products, but they should be ashamed to put their name on this junk. Buy this and you'll soon be disgusted just knowing it's in your sink.

Catches a lot of hair
Easy to use! I have really long hair so I need a tool to keep the shower drain clear. We tried several other strainers, but none quite worked. This device has a two-stage hair catcher that keeps the drain clear. It fills up quickly, though, so sometimes I have to pull out the top part and clear off the hair mid-shower. Since it's easy to remove from the drain, this is not a problem. It's a breeze to clean.

Catches hair and detritus
This product does what it says and looks pretty good as gross hair catchers go. My only complaint is that the extra ring around the catcher part comes off. Why? I can't see the reason and since I've had it for quite a while now, it keeps coming apart and won't stay on. I'm going to try to glue it on to stay put...that said, please make a smaller one to use in my sink, it's about a 1" drain and I can't find something similar. Thank you 😊

Easy to use
Highly recommend! I wait to remove hair when it’s dry, with a tissue. Easy to do & it doesn’t gross me out! No more plugged up tub!

Gets clogged way too easy
Gets clogged with hair really quickly so we have to clean it out almost every day. The hair gets stuck in the holes of the base so it's almost impossible to clean completely. One pass gets like half of the hair out, but then you have to sit there with q-tips and doing anything you can to get the rest of the hair out, and even then you only get like 75% of it, so you've got to clean it out again the next day or day after. It's a lot of time to spend cleaning the hair catcher every 1-2 days and not even get all the hair out. If you don't clean it out almost every day, the tub starts to fill with water really really quickly so you're basically standing in 1-3 inches of dirty water, which is what you were trying to avoid in the first place by getting a hair catcher and avoid clogging the drain.Anyway, it does what it needs to do. The drain doesn't get clogged so you don't have to deal with trying to clear a clogged drain yourself - or worse, call a plumber if you can't fix it yourself. But it takes a stupid amount of time to clean often enough to not be constantly showering in a dirty puddle of shower water, which is really annoying.

Best hair catch
I have to unload it after every other shower, which I didn't need to with my old hair catch, which definitely makes me appreciate this one because it's probably saving my pipes and saving me money in plumber expenses.

It does not work well
I am usually a big fan of OXO products but this one is a huge miss. The thing completely fell apart, it's extremely difficult to clean and it gets completely clogged up with gunk and grime. The hair then becomes entangled in it and almost impossible to remove, leaving a disgusting hairy grimy drain cover.
