I couldn't see how it was heavy duty, time will tell.The installation is fiddly, involving a complete dismantly, but that is Dyson's fault, lots of YouTube videos to assist.The torque screwdriver is OK,only just long enough (and absolutely necessary) but I would suggest your own Phillips and WD40 to free stiff screws and tighten afterwards.If I had known this was the problem I would yelled at Dyson, a clear design failure.

The switch itself seems robust and the fitting is a challenge but it now works. Dyson said I needed a new body at £95!! Screwdrivers were really helpful, whilst I have them in my tool box it made life much simpler.

All of a sudden the switch on my Dyson v11 stopped working. After a few you tube videos I was able to diagnose and order the replacement part as we speak.The part came with all the tools needed, I will be honest. The part is great and a lot strong and you can also see where the new part has extra strength in where the Dyson park failed.My only concern was that even though I was supplied tools, one of the tools ended up being rounded due the sheer tightness of the screws from the factory.The part is amazing. So 5 stars for that and it’s been in my Dyson now for many weeks and zero problems.For the tools I did have to use another of my own tool to resolve the issue with the screws.This is my only reason for the 4 stars. If I had not had other tools I would have had to wait to order another set to finish the repair.For the repair it self. I watched a number of YouTube videos and was confident in what I was doing. I did take it easy and i still had to use pliers to bend a connection back as the videos. But other than that. The fix was done and I have a working Dyson.

The replacement trigger works fine but similar to others the part that has been reinforced on this version is not the location that broke on the original one. I would say you need to fairly confident with DIY and disassembly to do this replacement as some steps are quite difficult and do require bending metal contacts.

I found it difficult to reconnect the thick power wires as they were difficult to bend correctly. If I need to do this job again, Heaven forbid, I might find it easier. The screwdrivers lasted well but the special T driver needed locking pliers to grip the screwdriver shaft to help start loosening some screws. The job lasted about an hour mainly due to bending the thick power wires correctly.

Low cost way to fix my cordless Dyson V10 absolute. Using YouTube to guide me with the repair this fitted perfectly and got me backup and running in days without having to got to a specialist repair shop. The trickiest part was dismantling and reassembling especially the electrical connections, but with care it can be done. I like that the screwdrivers are also provided.

This replacement trigger and tools saved me from throwing away my Dyson V10 Animal, or having to pay £120 for a replacement section from Dyson direct. Highly recommended if you are even slightly handy. There are many great videos on YouTube and the one I followed had me finished in 1 hour. I agree with other reviews that the screwdrivers are not high quality so definitely use your own where possible. Also recommend having some long-nose pliers to hand for when having to bend back the metal contacts. And keep a note of each screw removed, for easier replacement later. Money well spent.

I fit this trigger to my Dyson V11 on the day it arrived. It was clearly a step up in durability from the Dyson original!!.. draw your own conclusions from that!!..The tools supplied do exactly what they are supposed to and made the removal and replacement process quick and painless.Would definitely recommend this item.
