Keeps us prancing around, too!
We stumbled upon this book in the library one day and kept reading it until we could no longer make renewals (6 weeks?). I finally purchased our own copy and give this out as a gift to new parents. My 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son love reading the story several times a day. The pictures give us plenty to discuss even after so many readings. There are clever illustrations that carry over several pages, like the balloons at the zoo that get loose, the shadows that change throughout the day, and the "peeping tom" in the neighborhood. My son can recite the story lines from heart by now! The vocabulary is terrific, too, and we've had many discussions about what is "pork" and what is a "rail" and why do we "jog". Terrific book!

Old favorite redone
I have loved Piggy Wiglet for 20 years. The old one is my favorite, but this version is just as bouncy and fun.

Piggy Wiglet
This book was one of my son's favorite books when little so I purchased it for his son who is now 3 1/2. It is a rhymed story about a little pig who wiggles out of his pen and runs after the son through town, to the zoo, etc. and returns as the sun is setting and he is the "only one who almost caught the sun:) The child enjoys the book and the pictures are delightful. However it is not the same pictures as the original book and my son noted that with some disappointment (originals are too high priced to buy!)

Beware! This is not the original book Titled " Piggy Wiglet and the Great Adventure"
How sad I was to discover that this was not the book my girls grew up with. It reads close to the original, but not the same and the illustrations are also not as cute.. The original is written by David L. Harrison with illustrations by Les Gray. Don't be fooled by the title, it is not the same book.

JOYFUL DAY TRIP FOR A PIGGY
I first connected with this book through my local library's pre-school story time. The children in the room were silent as the pages turned, with mouths agape and no wiggly bottoms. When I got home I immediatly ordered Piggy Wigglet for my 3 yo grandson and he loves it. I read three stories to him at bedtime and many times he asks for Piggy Wiglet to be read twice. The lilting rhythm and jolly illustrations of "Piggy Wiglet" make bedtime reading a joy for both of us.

Three Stars
I was disappointed that this version is not the same as the older version that I wanted to replace.

New Piggy Wiglet?
This is a great classic! I used to love this story when I was younger, and loved to read it to my younger brothers and sister. It's pretty much the same, they have changed a few lines. I think the old lines are cuter and suit the old classic story of Piggy Wiglet much better! Why change a good thing?
