I have a Timex Expedition WS4 with a "CR 2430 battery" marking on the battery cover. Will the Energizer CR2430 be a good fit for my watch?

It should. Amazon is the only location I could find this battery.

is there a substitute for the cr2430 battery?

Tried a couple but did not work... Best to use what the product recommends... Mine is remote for a car and this is what the manufacturer recommended... They said using others could even damaged the remote

I bought a 2pack. Both are dead!

It is rare for both batteries to be dead on arrival. Please test them with a volt meter to confirm they are not the full 3.0 volts. Most times, when people think they received dead batteries, it is actually their device that is not functioning properly. I am not sure if we were the seller of these batteries, and you should contact them directly to resolve your issue. If it was us as the seller, please contact us to resolve and we will surely send new tested batteries or refund.
