Rubbermaid Premier Food Storage Containers, 16-Piece Set, Purple

We already owed this style container with red and green lids. I was pleased to find them in purple (one of my favorite colors) as well. These are the hard, clear containers. My other ones are mostly the softer plastic. I use the new purple ones to take food with me to work for lunch and dinner. I've designated the purple as "to go" and not leftovers. I was trying to use Gladware, but I found that the containers were being tossed out since Gladware looks like the containers that lunch meat comes in. I spent a lot of time looking for my perfectly-sized missing containers in the recycling and trash bins. By upgrading my food containers, they shouldn't get tossed out. At the time of purchase, the purple cost more than the other colors and maybe that is because they are the hard plastic. I am happy to have the different color lid and the premier quality clear container. This set it has eight containers total which is more than I needed for lunch and dinner each day. I rarely use the two larger containers for meals to go. I do use the three-cup every day for my sandwich and wished there had been more than one of this size. I also could use the 1/2-cup size which I can not find in the purple and is not included in this set. I only found them in grey with the new style lid. :( They would be perfect for snacks.

I love these and would have given 5 stars, but they need a couple more of the medium flat containers, and a couple less small containers.

For the price, I expected a little more. I guess I should have gone with a larger set in a different color. These aren't purple, they are an overpriced blue. The lids seem to stay on well and are airtight. The containers themselves, small.

These containers are very sturdy, microwave safe and do not break down after multiple cleaning cycles in the dishwasher. In addition to durability, they will stand up to stains generated from foods such as spaghetti sauce or blueberries which typically compromise the appearance of inferior containers after a single use. I have been using these "Premier Containers" since they were put on the market by Rubbermaid and would rate this particular style as head and shoulders above others included in its product line.

I had wanted to replace my stained Rubbermaid containers with glass ones but the reviews of glass shards scared me away. These are way nicer than the Walmart cheap ones I had. BTW the cheap ones are sold here on Amazon and stain and peel. I have high hopes for these since I’d had some Rubbermaid Premier but in black. The lids are a little tough push on but that is a good thing since that means there is a tight seal.

These containers are okay, but I liked the older version better.The cover is less convenient to close and the color is unattractive. I ordered purple but got something that is more of a gray-dark blue.I hope they’ll bring the older premium version back.

Love these bowls. Ate spaghetti in these multiple times and not a stain in sight!!!!
