Saved my 2002 E320 w210 transmission.
Without getting into the debate or bashing the sealed for life transmissions, this thing was a life saver. Well, at least a money saver.Only downside it that it’s just way to long. I’m sure it’s so they can sell the same one for a dozen engines but would be easier to use if it was made for the length of my engine and would pay double for that customization. But for the price I can’t complain.Great price and worked well to let me know that my slow leak in my sealed for life transmission had leaked way more than I thought. Bought fluid from Walmart rated and verified for this transmission (I was shocked too). Topped it off and check it weekly.Don’t bother with the cold reading, it’s so hard to know what cold really is. You have to have the car running and it slowly heats up, so it’s not really reliable. I had to let it run for a while or drive it a couple of miles before checking on hot range. It’s the only reliable way I could ensure the same reading.Topping off your fluid is tedious. Add about 1/2 cup to a cup at a time, cycle through all gears for 30s each and back, before checking the levels again to see how much to continue adding. For me, the first time I was so low it took about 30m of repetition, 45m including warm up. Now it takes about 20m including warm up. Or 5-10m if I check it upon returning home.Stop wondering if your sealed for life transmission is really in need of some TLC.

8 QTS AND NO DIPSTICK?
SAY IT ISN'T SO. MBZ DOESN'T EVEN WANT YOU TO CHECK THE VERY LIFE BLOOD OF YOUR CARS TRANSMISSION. REDICULOUS YOU SAY? LUDICROUS EVEN? IT'S TRUE.SO WHAT DO YOU DO? YOU NEED TO BUY A DIPSTICK. YES EVEN THE LONELY DIPSTICK IS AN OPTION TODAY. THIS IS NOT A DIPSTICK THAT ONE WOULD INSTALL AND LEAVE ON THE VEHICLE AS YOU WOULD EVERY OTHER CAR. IT'S USED TO CHECK THE LEVEL, WIPE CLEAN AND, PUT AWAY IN YOUR GARAGE UNTIL YOU DECIDE TO CHECK THE LEVEL AGAIN. SO DON'T BE SCARED THAT IT MAY BE 2 FEET LONGER THAN YOU THINK IS NECESSARY. THE ONE DIPSTICK IS USED FOR MANY MBZ MODELS WITH DIFFERENT LENGTH DIPSTICK TUBES. THE IMPORTANT MARKINGS ARE ON THE BLACK PLASTIC END. THESE ARE EASILY READ. THIS IS A PRETTY DECENT QUALITY TOOL FOR A GREAT PRICE THAT I USE PROFESSIONALLY ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS. BE REASONABLY CAREFUL WITH IT AND IT SHOULD LAST YOU YEARS. SO, PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRANSMISSIONS FLUID LEVEL, THERE'S NO EXCUSE NOT TO NOW.P.S. THE DIPSTICK IS MARKED WITH WHAT THE LEVEL SHOULD BE AT TWO DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES. THE BOTTOM RANGE IS AT 25° CELSIUS. BASICALLY, IF CAR SAT OVER NITE AND YOU JUST STARTED IT, THE LEVEL SHOULD BE BETWEEN THE TWO (2) LINES. CHECK AFTER DRIVING FOR AN HOUR, FLUID SHOULD BE AROUND 80° CELSIUS OR HOT, AND BECAUSE OF THERMODYNAMICS, SAID FLUID EXPANDS OR, GETS LARGER AND LEVEL WOULD BE HIGHER. SO, CHECK HOT AND IT'LL BE BETWEEN THE 2 UPPER LINES. CHECK COLD, IT'LL BE BETWEEN THE 2 LOWER LINES.

Works great
This isn't a leave in place tool but like most I hated that it's like a foot longer than it needs to be for my car, R230 SL600. But that's a simple fix, the red handle at the top simply unscrews! Put the flexible part close to the red handle in a vise ( or just hold with plyers, vise grips etc ) and twist off the red handle! Then with side cutters just cut off the extra but don't do as I did and almost cut too much! Mark the dipstick at the top of your dipstick tube and cut about 3/4 longer. The red handle screws in about that much. Easy! Even though I was close to cutting to much mine turned out perfect! Like it so much more that there's not two foot of extra flopping around. Plus now it's not a guess of where 'fully inserted' is. Hope this helps!

Good Dipstick. I Mean "Tool"
This transmission fluid level measuring device, as Mercedes likes to call it, works fine and comes with clear instructions. The reason I left one star off is due to the fact that this tool is used for a variety of vehicles so it is not designed to go all the way into the tube. It is too long so you should be careful when inserting it and stop feeding it when you feel the end hit the transmission pan. Instructions say the handle endwill protrude from the tube about 12". On my Mercedes Sprinter van it only stuck out about 3". It is easy enough to read the level and the tool seems to be made of quality materials. Price seems fair. I would recommend this to anyone.

More readable than the metal NAG1 dipstick
The one I bought originally for my 2013 Durango transmission was a flat metal blade, clearly marked, but the fluid splotched all along the readable portion, so that I had no idea how full my transmission was. Drove my vehicle around like that for hundreds of miles, and now there is a roughness upon acceleration. This Mercedes-type dipstick for the 722.6 is easy to read. Wish I'd gotten it first. There was one concern stipulated in a YouTube video (transmission mechanic) that this dipstick might snag (badly) in a NAG1, if inserted too far. But I had already marked off on the other stick what the maximum depth was, and transferred that depth mark to this one. If you're careful, I don't see it being a problem.

Fair product
The plastic tip folds over and it makes it hard to get a true reading of the fluid level
