Absolute high quality
This air filter is quality written all over it. I have never seen an air filter with fuzzy foam used that not only contributes to its solid frame but it must prevent dust and debris from getting into the filter fins in the first place. I can't believe that such high quality filter is priced so low. Well moving forward, if this company makes filter to all of my cars and trucks and motorcycles then I'm buying it from them. 2 THUMBS UP for this product.

Great OEM filter
I had my original air filter until 97k miles which was well overdue in my opinion. I had delayed because I wanted to save the money and put it towards an aFe Pro 5R cold air intake but they're so expensive and since I just received an Amazon gift card, I decided to buy this filter with a Mann HU925/X oil filter. My car is a 2004 BMW 330Ci (M54 3.0L I6)This filter does the job for a great price when compared to brands like K&N. Seriously, how much performance do you expect from an OEM replacement filter? Don't pay for the aftermarket ones. The only reason to pay more for a filter [system] would be to spend it on a cold air intake, and that's a whole different matter.*This filter fits VERY snugly, which is good because you want a good seal and don't want to let any air pollutants/particles into the engine.Get this filter for your car, wallet, and your OEM-craving-sake.And you can trust all Mann filters for sure.

Fits my BMW 2003 330xi, should fit your BMW E46
Works good. Replaced my "lifetime" K&N filter, the thing was filthy.Good for all BMW E46's...Make sure you push down the filter so it's snug.Putting the air filter casing on was a little harder, I had to press it down a bit, but when I put the clips back onto the bottom part of the housing, they snapped in nice and tight, good fit. This MANN filter does come with the pre-filter on the bottom, about 1/4 inch thick material. I believe they also sell a model without it. Shouldn't make too much of a difference. Will update if I notice any improves MPGs or throttle response.Oh and PROPS to Amazon on delivery!!! I ordered this at 3:00pm on Friday, and got it at 10:00 am on Saturday, now that's FAST SHIPPING!! (Amazon prime)

Filter has a added fiberous layer of protection
Ok, I know these are good filters but it seems their inventory has been in storage for a long time ( date of mfg 1/2013). Twice returned because the 3 gummy adhesive strips holding the protective cover was hardened. It was impossible to remove the adhesive strips without damaging the filter vanes. Oops, my bad, didn't realize these filters added that extra layer of protection! Protective cover is part of the efficient design. Great price too!

Perfect Fit for 2002 BMW 325i
Perfect fit for my 2002 BMW 325i. To my knowledge my engine air filter had never been changed and therefore that lead me to believe that the original filter I was changing came from the dealership and was more than likely the OEM part. This Mann Filter looked almost identical to the filter I was replacing, except much cleaner of course. I don't recall if I did a price comparison of this part here on Amazon compared to other part websites that I normally purchase from but from my experience of purchasing parts and filters for the car it seemed cost effective and the shipping time was 2 days as usual so I would definitely recommend this product for all others that own a 2002 BMW 325i.

Good replacement filter
Bought this filter for a 2002 325ci. Similar to the other comments, the filter has a foam-like layer at the bottom, presumably for dusty environments as noted in the product description. My old filter didn’t have this layer. The fit is somewhat snug - at first, thought it was the wrong filter. Was trying to slide it into the housing without Entirely taking off the cover. After taking the entire filter housing off, I could see the old filter fit loosely, with a slight, maybe 1/16” gap on the long end. The new filter need some pushing to properly seat it on the housing. Once done, the cover went back on fine. Snug fit, but it does fit. Can’t comment on performance yet. FWIW, the filter is made in Mexico.

Same of OE
Mann and Mahle always for our multiple BMW’s. Can’t go wrong and intend if buy them on sale but prices of auto parts have gone up and now with Trump will skyrocket.
