Lots of visibility for the price. Great for commuters.
I use these on my daily commuter bike, mostly in the winter in both city traffic and bike trails. I feel that I am very well lit in both the front and the back. The Metro 360 has several modes that are all very bright. I am particularly fond of the always-on strobe mode, which strobes from low to high. I feel that this gives me the visibility of a strobe without the nausea of a strobe. The Metro 360 is easily removable and clamps onto the handlebars. I have had to adjust it when going over rough terrain, but probably could have tightened it down better. The unit comes with a couple of inserts for different sized bars, and I was able to get a good fit on my (smaller than usual) drop bars. I do like to leave it a little loose though so that I can point it down on the bike trail so I don't blind other cyclists, but move it up on the road for better visibility. Operation is very simple: There is a glow-in-the-dark button that turns the unit on/off and switches between modes. It remembers your last mode, so I rarely find myself changing out of the always-on strobe. The battery life is very good. I usually just charge it up on the weekends, which will get me the 1-hour per day, 5 days per week use that I need easily. It charges with a mini (not micro like your phone!) usb cable, and charge time is about two hours. The Hotshow 2W is really great. It comes with a clamp that goes around your seat post which it attaches to easily. It can be removed and put back on in a few seconds, so it is easy to take with you if you are not comfortable locking it up with the bike. It has two buttons- one for mode, and one for brightness. I find that I use the random strobe at full brightness the most often. The Hotshot charges using the same mini USB cable as the Metro 360, but the kit only comes with one of them. The battery life is very good- I have never run it down, but use it daily and only charge on the weekends. Charge time is about an hour. I find that I use this more often than the Metro 360 as it provides a lot of added visibility even during the day. Overall, this is a very good kit. I did a lot of research before buying something that met a good fit of quality, durability, brightness, and price. It was the review on the The Sweethome (I'm sure a lot of you are here after reading that article as well) that led me to this unit. I am very happy with my purchase.

Nice and bright, long-lasting battery life
Excellent quality lights, bright with a variety of flashing modes to choose from. Charging is easy with a light indicator to show when the light is fully charged. Water-proof as I've ridden them in more than one thunderstorm and they work quite well. Durable and easy to mount, very secure on the bars. Since the initial purchase, I've bought a second set for my other road bike used for century rides. You will not be disappointed.

Super bright headlight taillight combo, especially for the price!
Having a flashing headlight on your bike is nothing short of amazing in terms of the road manners of most people driving cars and my visibility on a bike. After I fully charged the duo, I mounted them and went for a ride. While doing barely 1 mph on my bike and fiddling with my pedals to make sure I was ready for another sprint, I arrived at a T junction where a girl stopped her car at the junction; She was waiting for me to pass by. It was only when I looked up and realized that she was still watching and waiting well over 15 seconds for someone who was 30 ft away from her, and barely moving, did I realize the effectiveness of the "day lightening" mode. And I called out to say, "go ahead." After I got going, I caught up with her fairly quickly as this was winding, coastal road with a 25 mph limit and humpback whales breaching the azure waters not more than 100 yards off the coast. Therefore she wasn't flying down the road and I got up to speed in no time. I got to her bumper and was to her right, after a block of riding in that area and realizing her unwillingness (or inability to see me) to give me space, I rode out towards the center of the road so that she would see me - sure enough, it worked and she pulled to the left, giving me a wide berth and let me pass unhindered - to continue trying to beat my personal record for another segment on my Strava App. I think this is a fantastic purchase! The brightness is more than enough and maybe when I take my cross bike off road, I may need another light, in which case I might upgrade to the metro 500 or an expillion or just get another metro 360...TBD. Quick thoughts on products: 1. I charged both lights using an iPhone brick - the computer is too slow. 2. The lights were shipped with charge but the instructions indicated that they must be fully charged before use, I did so. 3. I did the metro first and played around with it while the hotshot was getting charged. The "walking" mode is a really low output but perfectly suited for a walking pace. The other modes are well thought out. 4. My day time go to mode is the day lightening and dusk/dark mode is the one with a triple flash and a steady output at the same time. 5. I realized very quickly that I'd made a mistake with the hotshot as I pulled it out of the charged by the plug but I forgot to disconnect the cable from the plug. The hotshot was discharged while being left as such and had to be fully charged again. So, remember to disconnect the lights from the USB cords after charging or they will discharge. 6. The Hotshot is supremely bright as well and infinitely adjustable to your specific flashing needs! Just make sure you've aimed it correctly and tightened the bolts up and you're good to go! One more thing: If you put your bare palm in front of the light, you WILL feel the heat. These CREE LED's are pretty amazing. (Don't expect them to start a fire for you though) *****4 Year Update***** Still going strong! I use these lights during the daytime when there's a lot of traffic as well as at dusk when riding back home from work. The charge holds well on the headlight whereas the rear (arguably more important than the front) loses its charge after 3 days. Considering I bought these lights in 2013 and it's 2017 - I'd say their output and slight loss in ability to hold charge absolutely okay!

There is bright and then there is "I'm coming home Lord..."
Update July 2023 - I still have it, I still use it, and the headlight and taillight still work as if it was day one. Even when my riding dwindled I kept it as a flashlight in my car for emergencies. Nearly 9 years of use. I saw a fellow rider with a really bright light and had a chance to stop him, he only rides with Cygolite products and loved them. I was looking for a secondary light to run with my Magicshine 808E that would flash since the 808 makes a perfect light to ride by. I poked around and found the Cygolight products. I wanted something that was attention getting as well as offered different modes because on my commute I use the flash as well as the solid light setting. I wanted something portable and light since if I needed to take it off the bike I could, and that was easy to remove to swap between bikes. The Cygolite 360 is money; the strobe setting is bright and I can easily see reflections off street signs almost 1/2 mile away at night. It is also a faster but not seizure inducing strobe, which means it will get you noticed but NOT cause a driver to lapse into a coma and hit you. The solid/strobe setting is really nice for night rides where you need the solid light but want a flicker to get you noticed. The walking setting is also a perk, I use that around the house when I can't find a normal flashlight. The mount allows for there to be some side to side movement of the light on the go, which is nice because I can direct the beam to keep it out of oncoming traffic's face as well as run it facing the side of the trail to scare any critters away when riding at night. The charge usually lasts me about 3 weeks on 20 minutes of solid and 30 of strobe per day, 5 days a week at minimum. The taillight is a really bright option and the ability to control the speed of the flash on the different settings is also a perk. The battery seems to last forever, I can get over a month out of it on the strobe setting for 45 minutes a day 5 days a week. It casts a really bright light (been told by several coworkers) and the USB charge feature makes it worth the investment. If you need a simple light set for commuting around this would be my best recommendation. I plan on possibly getting another set for my other bike, but for now I'll just swap the lights when needed. The only draw back is the mount will loosen over time and the stops to keep it from twisting too far to one side are easily overcome which means if you bump the light hard enough it is shining in your eyes! I'd rather other people think they are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel versus I am seeing it because that car didn't see me.

Expensive, but very bright, well built.
This seems 4 times brighter than other LED lights I've been using, and has more modes and brightness levels. Both lights are easy to mount on various thickness handlebars or posts (and remove quickly so I don't have to leave them on my bike for thieves). Nice rechargeable batteries from USB connection (indicator lights show when the two lights are fully charged); includes one USB cable (to charge one device at a time). Water resistance is nice (I don't want to ride in the dark when it rains unexpectedly), make sure you seal the USB port tightly when it rains. I wish they had an instruction sheet (not just the side of the small box); to say how to use all the modes. I would rather have spent 2 minutes reading instructions, than 10 minutes figuring out how to use all the nice features. (some of the basics: You press the button to toggle between modes, a long press powers the unit off, The light returns to the mode last used when powered back on; indicator light flashes while charging, and solid on when fully charged. There are four brightness levels for constant-on; I use the brighter levels for faster speeds when I need to see very far ahead to respond in time to obstacles or broken glass, or when traveling where there are many competing bright lights from heavy car traffic and city lights. There are two flashing modes: "steady-pulse" adds an occasional increase in brightness, but never goes below medium brightness, this is good for riding after sunset, to get the attention of cars; the "day-lightning" toggles between super bright ("lightning")flashes, to all the way off, this is good for being seen by cars in daytime, the flashes are so bright, that 10 minutes after sunset, I can see the light reflecting off the road signs 1 to 2 blocks ahead of me, and 15 minutes after sunset a driver told me the light was too bright for him (so I now use "steady-pulse" after sunset). The company also sells replacement parts if you need them (such as rechargeable battery and clamps - which I got for a second bike). The big negative is the big price. But I think you get good value for the extra money; (Which is seldom the case for high end bike components, where 4 times the price is maybe 50% better product, This is 4 times better for 4 times the price). Things that could be better: Allow the lights to be manipulated with full finger winter gloves. The button on the rear light is small for my fingers, takes a few seconds of pushing to turn light on/off. The leaver that removes the front light from the mounting bracket is too short, takes a lot of pressure to unlatch (and I must remove my gloves to do this). Other than this, the lights are a pleasure to use.

Good Quality
I bought this light for my TREX FX2 2025 bike as it was listed as good quality for a budget price. I got more than I expected, the front and back lights work very nicely, bright enough to light up the road or path in front of me and attached to the handle bars securely. A great buy!

Exceeded expectations so far... Updated 11-21-2022
Update 11-21- 2022.... After using these for awhile, I still have no regrets about this purchase. The lights and battery life have worked well for me and how I use them. I've also been told that the lights are very visible during the daytime. I have learned two things: Be careful with the USB covers. The one on my headlight came out when charging one time, and the one on my tail light also tried to "escape" when I was removing the light from the bike. After using the headlight for a period of time, you will notice a consistent "flicker", every couple of minutes when on steady mode. When I noticed this with mine, I did a search and the only answer I found was that it was an indication that the light needed recharging. One of the internet search results said that you needed to recharge within 10 minutes or something like that. So, I tested mine. Rest assured, if you notice your light flickering and it's dusk or dark, you should have plenty of time to get where you are going. I set mine on medium steady in my basement. It ran for well over two hours and had been flickering for awhile before I did the test. In the end, it never did die. It just got dimmer as time went on, until I shut it down and charged it. For me this has been a solid purchase. ***Original Review Below*** As the traffic has dramatically increased on the rural roads where I live and ride, I decided to get some lights for my bicycle so I'd be more visible. After becoming overwhelmed by all the lights that were available, I chose this Cygolite set based on price, overall reputation and reviews. Out of the box they powered up and cycled through all the settings. There are plenty of settings on both the head light and tail light including brightness (steady mode headlight and tail light) and flash speed (tail light only as the headlight modes are fixed). My bicycles are 2003 and 2006 with small diameter bars and seat posts, so there was no issue with the mounts like people with newer bikes seem to have. These come with the plastic mounts and I do agree with some people that the rubber style mounting may be better and in my case would have made switching from bicycle to bicycle a little easier. However, we also know that the rubber bands stretch and deteriorate... so I guess that boils down to preference. As for me, I just bought another set of Cygolite mounts for for my other bike. The daylight photo's were taken about 10 minutes after the lights were unboxed. They were taken with a Galaxy S6 with no zoom or photo editing. The bicycle is approximately 160 feet away and is facing full sun. The head light and tail light are on their brightest steady settings (the head light is not on boost). While it is not really clear in the photo's, both the head light and tail light were easily visible despite the sunlight. The flashing modes were even more visible. For the three night headlight photos, the bicycle is where I was standing when I photographed it during the daytime. So you are now looking towards the end of the driveway. The photos show the steady low, steady medium and steady high settings ( I did not use Boost). The night tail light picture was taken with the bicycle in the same position as it was during the daytime photo, about a160 feet away or so. The tail light is on the same high steady mode that it was during the daytime photo. The other night photo, shows the bicycle from the side and was taken from about 25 or so feet away. After the photo's were taken, the lights were charged on a wall adapter and took 2-3 hours to completely charge. I tested the headlight, after it was fully charged, at night and it seemed to me that the boost is actually a quick way to get a lower setting, or flashing setting, to the brightest setting. When I tried boost while on the steady/full brightness setting, I couldn't see a difference. At this point I can't vouch for battery life or longevity as I haven't really used them yet. For now, I just wanted to get some photo's posted of how this set performs day/night and hope these pictures help someone else make their decision. I was actually considering the Ranger 1400 and Hypershot 350, before making this purchase. However after seeing how these perform in the conditions I'll be riding in (rural roads with sun and shade as well as at twilight), I think the Ranger 1400 and Hypershot 350 may have been too bright for motorists. As it is, when I set these lights up, I made sure to check them from a distance while seated in my car to make sure they weren't annoying to me as a driver and to pick the best visible tail light setting to my eye. Bottom line, I have no regrets with this purchase at this point and will update the review as I use this set.

OK light but there are better
Decent light & tail light. If I had to buy a new set of bike lights today I'd get something different though. especially for the price they're selling at now, and especially not for a open box listing. ($94.95 - 2/28/18) Pros; Bright. I rarely need to run mine on the high setting. medium is my sweet spot. Please point them at the trail so you can see the trail and dont blind oncoming bikers. You get lights like this to see what you're riding on, not to blind people. Nice modes for biking. Both on the front and rear lights Nice flood to the light. good visibility of the upcoming trails USB rechargeable. plug it in a while and you're good to go, but it does take a while. Cons; Confusing to adjust the tail light's flashing speed & intensity. Built in batteries. When they die, they're dead. Cant swap for spare batteries if they're discharged or cant hold a charge anymore. USB mini-B charging. Its the chunkier of the small USB plugs. The standard we're all using for cell phones is USB micro-B, so that's one more cable to worry about. Headlight mount won't stay straight. It clamps down on the handlebars nicely and it can swivel to adjust for bar angle. Unfortunately it doesn't lock down and stay straight left/right with the single screw the design uses, vertical is just fine though. Would I buy them now for $95? Nope, no way. Not without replaceable batteries & the mini-B USB port, there's better available for cheaper. If they were around $68ish from back when I bought them 6/2017, I'd consider them. But knowing what I know now even that is on the expensive side for what you get. Seller; Sold by: Warehouse Deals, Inc
