Is this the digital model? I see in the description something about a mechanical thermostat; don't want the pilot light, want the electronic ignition

I think I recall seeing that also. But the thermostat is totally digital. I'm not sure if has pilot light I'm not home or I would take a look. I don't recall lighting one and it does everything automatically. I just set the temperature and forget it. This is a great heater.

How much did your gas bill rise.

went from a 20 y/o Raypak 185,000 BTU to a 266,000 BTU a year ago. Much better heating time and high efficiency. Natural gas cost same as before due to efficiency and quicker water heat up time.

How much does this thing weigh?

It is probably a couple of 100 pounds. it was delivered to my driveway by the shipping company and my installer carried it to my pool in 3 pieces. It is a very good pool heater.
