User Friendly
I have always used centre pin or fixed spool reels, so I was very cautious with this one. I got a Birds Nest before even casting out! My fault, I didn't look at the spool whilst adjusting the drag. It took a few moments to sort out, but it was a lot easier than a fixed spool Nest! Once set up, it was brilliant. Really easy to use, the Thumb release is in a brilliant position. (But be careful when winding after casting.... Keep your thumb out of the way because the b#gger bites)! I have only used it twice, but I am well pleased. Great value for the money.

12-1 o’clock on the brake is the sweet spot.
I love this reel! This is a perfect starter reel.. I have fished with spinning rigs my whole life and recently I have been learning how to fish on the warm local lakes and ponds for bass and other species.. I was always intimidated by learning how to use a bait caster because I heard how difficult it was.. once I tuned this reel, in a matter of hours I was able to learn how to cast accurately without the infamous birds nests.. now I’m hooked, pun intended ;)
