Pigeon Bottle Nipple for Cleft Lip/Palate Baby, Small Size, Please Use It Under The Guidance of a Pediatrician

My baby has a high palette and he struggles with milk transfer during breast feeding despite using a nipple shield so he wasn’t putting on weight. We had tried two other bottle brands - none of which he could ever find in his mouth which made feeding so incredibly stressful for everyone. Desperate at 2am one night I found this bottle and it’s changed everything for us. It’s not cheap by any means especially for the actual bottle being plastic BUT he can get a really good latch on it and feeding stress is now a thing of the past. We bought 5 more and in the week since we received all of them he put on over a pound and is eating like a champ. If your baby struggles to find other nipples I cannot recommend this bottle enough!

My daughter was born with an isolated cleft palate. She is unable to drink from a normal bottle or from the breast because she cannot get suction. They originally gave us the pigeon bottle/nipple combo in the hospital but the bottle was HUGE for a newborn. Talking a 9-10oz bottle for 1oz of milk. If even that. So we tried the Dr. Brown Specialty Feeder System which she did really well with for a while. Until she wasn't anymore. Then I read a hack on the ACPA about putting this nipple on the Dr. Brown bottles and it has worked WONDERS. My little babe will only use these nipples now and nothing else so they must be a lot easier for her to receive milk from.

My cleft palate baby is introduced to medela special need bottle first, and she has a hard time getting the milk going and often it takes us an hour and lots of squeezing to get 1oz into her. She fell asleep half way into the feeding and didn't seem to have constant sucking motion. She was very underweight at birth (IUGR, at 0.1 percentile), and the feeding issue makes it really hard to catch up. We changed into the pigeon bottle two weeks ago, and it was a total win. I don't know if it's because her cleft is in the back of the palate near her throat. It took us one or two days to get used to the fast flow. She is now feeding like a champ with occasional setbacks that she just wouldn't latch on. Overall, she is actually "sucking" with this bottle and gaining weight like she's supposed to.We love the how easy it is to assemble the bottle and it comes with a cap. We certainly use the narrow nipple to begin with, and potentially can change to the regular size one. One thing we aren't as excited about is that I don't think we can directly put the bottle in the bottle warmer due to the thin plastic material.

We also tried the haberman and Dr. Browns specialty feeding system for a soft cleft, and this bottle was the best for our situation. If your child has a cleft of the soft palate I would highly recommend giving this bottle a try. Sure, the packaging is stupid with putting the instructions on the inside, but just twist it tight and pull it out. But people shouldn’t give it a bad review for that as this bottle and nipple system is genuinely great, and could be the best option for your child.

Al comprar vi muchas reseñas negativas ppr el EMPAQUE relación PRECIO … a ver en mi opinión quienes tenemos la necesidad de comprar este biberón es porque nuestros bebés poseen características especiales; en mi caso mi beba nacio con paladar hendido; que alguien me diga EN QUE INFLUYE EN EMPAQUE!!! Mis amores el precio del biberon no es ora que venga en una cajita bonita y de colorines al menos asi opino yo!!! Es facilitarle el proceso de alimentación a nuestros bebés y a mi me funciona de maravilla!!! De verdad que ae los recomiendo mi nena succiona de lo mejor con este biberón, no se me ahoga ya que regula el flujo de leche, en caso de que su bebe no succione puedes ayudarlo presionando el cuerpo del pomo ( una silicona suave) CREANME para niños que tengan el paladar hendido o labio fisurado esta sera su mejor aliado. Solo un punto y es que a mi entender pasa demasiado aire al interior del biberon mientas los niños se alimentan y pues este mismo les provoca gases a ellos, para mi es un problema menor ya que mi interés es que se alimente pero si es un punto que creo se pudiera perfeccionar algo que evite la cantidad de aire dentro del biberón y que luego pase a nuestro bebé. MAMIS SE QUE ESTAMOS LLENAS DE PREGUNTAS Y MIEDOS principalmente en alimentación de nuestros bebes y le soy sincera esta para mi ha sido la solución

My baby was born with Bilateral cleft lip and palate and we started out using the haberman nipple (medela special feeder) -dr browns didn’t work for us.. after assisting him for a while we noticed he was doing well on his own and I wanted to try something new. We switched to this bottle and I’m so glad we did it’s been amazing. Just don’t twist the top on too tight or it cuts the air valve and won’t work right and if it’s not on tight enough it leaks. Do it just right and test it before feeding and it’s the best thing ever.Sucks that it has to be pricey and you only get one bottle but I still love the bottle.
