Works better than the OEM solenoid.
Replaced the OEM part and the engine starts easier now. Mounting holes match OEM starter for easy installation. OEM part is cheaply made and the engine was difficult to start. This one is a true starter solenoid and should last a long time.

VTX1800
Used to replace the oe solenoid for my vtx1800. That bike has eaten 5 in 15 years with the genuine Honda part lasting a few years vs the 1-2year Amazon specials. This style fortunately uses a cable ground, so your kickstand and neutral safeties still function. Fits neatly in the oe location, and handles the in-rush current like a champ. Faster cranks than the tiny solenoid could handle. Time will tell

Not your typical wiring
It should come with wiring instructions. I almost returned it because it doesn’t work as I expected a regular relay to work. Usually, the ground is through the case, and the small terminals are “I”gnition and “S”tart. However, this solenoid does not have the “I”terminal. You connect one terminal to hot, and ground the other terminal. The ground is not through the case. I connected one side to my starter wire and made a wire to loop from the other terminal to the bolt holding the solenoid to my fender for ground.

Not Continuous Duty !!!!!!!!
I can’t tell you how this product performed because I was not dumb enough to install a starter relay in a configuration that calls for a continuous use relay. I just bought a trailer and the second time I used it, the relay that was installed melted and stuck in the on position. Obviously, the genius that installed the last one fell for the same type of relay. This item has been misrepresented and should not be carried by Amazon. Amazon should not do business with any company that is so willing to mislead their customers.
