Can I use standard AA batteries for this turntable?

No, standard AA batteries will NOT work. It requires a specific 18650 rechargeable battery for wireless use, which is NOT included. You can also use it directly by plugging in the provided type-c cabel

My display stand just moves left and right, it's not doing a 360 rotation. Is it broken?

It is not broken! This usually happens when the battery power is low. We recommend fully charging the 18650 battery for at least 6 hours before first use, or connecting the USB cable to ensure sufficient power for smooth rotation.
