Depends on the spade. They unscrew like regular binding posts of this style. If your spades are wide enough to fit around the post you should be good.

Yes, they disconnect, so you can insert the wire and then lock the wire inside. The only thing I would caution you about is don't purchase a wire too large to insert in the plug.
