CYNOVA External Microphone Adapter for Insta 360 X3 Camera, Type-C and 3.5mm Audio Ports Support Charger and Record for Insta 360 X3 Accessories

Shipped quick, easy way to connect my wireless rode mics to the camera for amazing sound quality. Isn’t visible in the stitch line on the 360 footage witch is good.

I can confirm This DOES work on the insta360 one x2 with some modification to the plastic.

This mic adapter allows you to connect an external mic to the the X3 and allows you to simultaneously charge the internal battery with a USB C port on the adapter. Works really well with the Rode Wireless GO II. Using the adapter requires removing the charging port door on the X3 ( keep it someplace safe- the X3 is not water resistant without the cover properly installed). This mic adapter is “invisible” to the X3 and won’t show up on a 360 degree image. The set up works best with the invisible mic cold shoe ( formerly from Ulanzi but now sold directly from Insta 360) and the Rode wireless GO or GO II. Both the mic and the mic adapter with be “invisible” in the stitch line and the wireless mic component can be placed discreetly where you want it.

**** EDIT **** The following review refers to the design and solution made by Insta360 company. It is in no way refers to to seller who gave a fair price, fast shipping and good service (and even offered full refund for my disappointment). Of course -I cannot blame a seller for selling what a manufacturer supplys, even if it's a bed solution. My opinion - Insta360 could have made an effort and squeeze that 3.5mm audio port together with the USB-C port. Instead, they invented this giant worthless "add-on" that still compromises water resistance, surely compromised the invisibility of the horizon stitch, somehow manage to block battery by half a millimeter and forces pulling out in order to replace battery, vulnerable to hits and breaks... and honestly - doesn't sound so great. If you haven't bought it yet - give it up.

This fits the X3 perfectly I don't know if it's for any other cameras but the X3 for sure. This is if you are looking to do external microphones, this holds the receiver on the X3 to where it is out of sight, it falls in the Stitch line kind of like the invisible selfie stick. With my microphone I can now be 50 to 100 ft away from the camera and walk into it. You need this!

Works to connect my insta 360 to my Rhodes GO 2 for motorcycle riding. Remember you also need a cold shoe to clip the mic onto. The connector itself works really well, only thing is I still see my Rhodes cable in my 360 footage. Not too bad but it’s a little annoying to edit around it.

This works amazingly with the R0DE Wireless Go II Mics and the Insta360 x3. I have had no issues. The sound quality was spot on. On the x3 you just pull the little door off on the USB-C charging port and then attach this. the USB-C Door of the x3 comes off towards you. Do not be afraid, you won't break the door. I was scared at first but I watched a few guides and had no issues.

Works awesome to record my drumming on my electric drum kit. The audio from the drum kit goes directly into the camera now. You can also charge it while using this.

I originally bought the one from Insta360s page but when I connected it to my X3 it wouldnt detect the mic unless you pushed the jack in the port. You had to activally put pressure on it or it woudlnt see the mic. I tried 3 different mics same issue. I returned it and tried this one instead and it works like a charm, you just plug in your mic and the mic icon shows up onscreen and you see the sound level at the top of the screen. Couldve been a lemon but I would recommend going for this one instead, plus its a dollar less.
