Basically Perfect
This wallet is exactly what I wanted. It is compact, tough, simple, and feels like something that was built to survive actual use instead of just looking nice in product photos. The Pelican G5 has the right balance of size and protection. It holds what I need, keeps everything secure, and gives me the added benefit of RFID blocking without turning into a bulky brick in my pocket. The hard case design makes a lot of sense if you want something more durable than a traditional leather wallet. The latch feels solid, the construction is clean, and the whole thing has that usual Pelican โbuilt like a case for something expensiveโ feel. It is great for everyday carry, travel, outdoor use, camping, hunting, or just not wanting your cards and ID getting beat up. No real complaints. For what I wanted, it is pretty much perfection.

Great gift for my brother
Pelican is always a solid product, so I didnโt expect anything less with this. Bought it for my brother as a birthday gift and he loved it. I liked the shape, size and color for him. Very durable material and has a nice sturdy clip to secure it closed. He and his wife like to be out on the water and I know he has dropped his ID/cards and keys while tubing before so this was a great option to keep his cards/money secure while out on the water. Very slim and has a small loop for holding or securing to something else. I love using a slightly larger pelican case when on the boat or river, but if someone opens it and it gets knocked over then purpose is defeated. I think this will solve that problem for keeping wallet items safe.

Perfect trail companion, keeps everything bone-dry
Pelicanโs reputation for high quality gear is why I grabbed this wallet for summer hikes, and it lives up to the name. The hard-shell case snaps shut with authority and seals tight, so sweat and rain stay outside where they belong. I no longer worry about my leather bifold turning into a soggy mess or cash sticking together by the end of a long trek. Inside, the dividers hold a few cards, folded bills, and my park pass without rattling around, and the RFID shielding is a nice bonus. It slips easily into a cargo pocket and weighs next to nothing, yet it feels tough enough to survive a tumble down the trail. If you need a wallet that shrugs off moisture and abuse, this Pelican is worth every penny.

Good but the gasket won't stay in place.
The wallet feels great in terms of weight, durability, protection, etc., but the rubber gasket won't stay in place. Every time I open it, the rubber piece falls out. I can't tell if it's staying while closed, but that's a problem if not. Otherwise, it's great. I got it for when I go camping so the intention is to put it in a bag. To me, it's a bit too big for any pocket, comfort wise, though it'll likely fit. I do think it's worth the money though and does what it's supposed to as best I can tell.

READ ONLY THIS REVIEW BEFORE PURCHASE. You won't be disappointed, I promise.
After using this wallet for over 18 months, I can say, I really love it. I bought this originally so I can have my ID/Wallet with me while swimming or going to the beach and have everything protected in my zippered bathing suit pocket. It worked great for this. Nothing got wet and I guess you can say it was not designed to be submerged in water for hours upon hours in a pool but it kept 100% water tight. My 2nd purpose was to be somewhat of a minimalist when it comes to carrying cards etc. The nice thing is, my wallet is maxed out. I cannot fit anything else in there which means I cannot clutter it up with stuff and have to clean it out at a later point. When I used to carry a leather wallet, it would get fatter from stuffing in all those receipts, business cards etc. then one day, I'd have to clean it out and the saga restarts. Now here are the downsides of the wallet: if you have something metal in your pocket with the wallet, and you walk, they could clank and make noise since the wallet is metal. If you travel on an airplane with this wallet, make sure you carry a dime with you in your pocket. Since this wallet is water tight, it's also airtight. At ground level you have high pressure. When you go up at 30-40K feet, the pressure is much less and my theory is, the high pressure leaks out of the o-ring seal and when you come back down and land, the pressure inside is much less and the ground level pressure is much greater putting a great deal of pressure on the wallet causing the wallet to not open. If you put a dime at the edge of the opening of the wallet where the latch is and you twist it, you will hear a suction release and air enter the wallet and it will open. If you open your wallets latch at 30-40k feet just before you descend and put it back in your pocket till you land, you will be fine. No pressure lock will form. Many flights with this wallet, and decided the dime was easier. Of course if you used a tiny flat screw driver, that would work too but they don't let you fly with them. One more note, if you carry a wad of cash or cards on the outside of the wallet under the rubber band area for a while, then you decide you want to only carry one or 2 cards there, you will find that the rubber band has stretched out and won't hold such a small thickness anymore. The wallet is a bit heavier than other wallets the same size. Some of you may not like the extra weight. Overall, these few things I can easily overlook with this wallet as I truly love the wallet. It has been a great conversation piece to many who have seen me open it to pay. Since it's made of aluminum, it's RF ID blocking. That being said, if you carry a credit card sized tracker tag and put it inside, the Bluetooth will still work inside the closed metal wallet. The reason for this is the o-ring seal has just enough crack to let out the 2.4Ghz BT (Bluetooth) band's RF signal, but the NFC (Near Field Communication) which operates on 13Ghz will not go through the wallet therefore it is RF ID blocking. The BT range is cut down dramatically so I don't recommend carrying a BT tracker inside but it works great on the outside of the wallet under the rubber band area. I've tested with the MiLi MiCard Pro credit card tracker that is lithium Ion rechargeable. Pelican gives the wallet a lifetime warranty but some parts of it carry only a limited warranty (2 years) [Stated by a Pelican Products Representative over the phone]. Not sure which parts they are, but I suspect the rubber band part of the wallet. Parts don't seem to be replaceable on the wallet from what I can see but I suspect that this wallet will last as long as I want it to. Some people have complained it was hard to open and close, but I've had no issues with the latch. Yes, you do have to squeeze the wallet closed and push on the latch with some mild force, but then again, it's water tight. What do you expect. Really, not an issue for me at all. So there you have it. All the ins and outs on this wallet that no one will ever report on. I love this wallet and have no plans on ever changing. Note to Pelican Products: To fix the seal issue of the wallet being pressurized after flying at 30K feet, please have a tiny hole drilled in the case with an area around the hole counter sunk. Then place an IP68 sticker over that counter sunk hole that will allow air to pass but the membrane would block water as the water molecules would be too large. IP67 & IP68 2-Way radios use this technique. Maybe have the rubber band user replaceable. As an upgrade, you could always offer the wallet in Titanium to reduce weight, but I suspect the wallet would cost quite a bit more. :) Hope this helps everyone. Tips on minimalism for this wallet. If you have a BJ's or Sam's club card, you can either carry only your digital card on your phone, or you can print out the barcode and tape it onto your wallet's metal area with clear packing tape. Or you can store it in your Key Ring App along with a boatload of other loyalty cards etc. Makes for easy checkouts!

Good product
Works good, sometimes hard to open (maybe too many things in it).

beware of this case
Was so close to being worth it, but it's just not. This pelican case fits 4 credit cards and a couple US dollar bills and that is it. The genius engineers made the case just a hair too small to fit currency into it without folding it multiple times, wasting tons of space. The case is also just a tad too big to firmly hold credit cards in, so they just flop around loosely as you try to close it. If and when a card comes loose as you close it and it gets stuck in the "waterproof" seal, your card will bend before you can realize and it will ruin your card/ID/anything you put inside this case. To top it off the handy carrying cord is incredibly weak and I would not trust it to hold my valuables (again), as it wears down after a few months and will snap off and your wallet will go flying into the distance.

Best wallet ever!
Bought a second one for a friend as a gift. The pictures show mine after 5 years of daily use. Still absolutely perfect. The clasp is still really tight and secure. I couldn't use another wallet now. It's been sweated on, rained on, fallen on at the skatepark, snorkelling etc. get rid of the lanyard off of it then you're good to go!

Good enough for my level of usage.
Compact, solid. I expect it to last til probably the end of my days. Worry not of rain, sunshine and unauthorised card scans. Can hold up to a few cards, I store around 6-8 cards inside. I choose to store my cash inside this wallet than use the cash strap available. Maybe can store some coins but be prepared for the coins to fly out when you open the wallet. (Not recommended to store coins) I believe it is recommended to grease the O-ring as a form of maintenance. *Not recommended for people who likes to hold thick stack of cash, you might want to carry a briefcase for that.
