The Safe arrived this morning in a fantastically sturdy box with handles. There is no damage to the safe that I can see, and I am happy about that. I suggest completing the Set Up BEFORE you stick the Safe in a tight spot. Both the Reset button and Battery Compartment require the door to be open almost all the way to be able to access them. First I had to pop open the key compartment. It is covered by a small plastic cover about an inch across. (It is a cheap and cheesy little piece that will probably end up somewhere else before long, accidentally or on purpose.) Simply press that little plastic piece on the left side and it pops off, revealing the key slot. The Instructions say insert key, make sure it is all the way in, and turn it counterclockwise while also turning the door knob counterclockwise. But for me it was turn the key to the left while turning the knob to the right. I mention this so you don’t feel that prickle of panic if you follow the Instructions without getting the door open the first time. The battery compartment is in the door, so that if the door were full open, you would see the battery compartment just below the Reset button. To open the compartment, slide downward and the front pops off. The batteries were really tricky and did not work for me the first three times..I know, because the next step is pushing the Reset button, and mine was dead. I kept playing with the batteries, but they are an extremely tight fit and I was losing hope when Finally it worked. I heard the beep. Yay! I am already dreading the first time I have to change the batteries, because the compartment is awkward, tight and difficult. Setting the new code was super easy once the batteries kicked in. So now all I have left to do is bolt the safe down with the lag bolts that were included. Update: holes in the bottom of safe fit the included bolts and secured the safe beautifully. The code works perfectly every time... The only trouble I had at first was remembering to press the hash key after entering code. It has been months and the batteries are still going strong. Really good safe, and very good Amazon purchase. UPDATE: I purchased this safe in Feb 23, and here we are in summer ‘25, and still haven’t had to change the batteries. That’s amazing. Update: 2 1/2 years in, and the original batteries are still working great. I highly recommend. Update: The safe has been in for three years and is still operating on the original batteries.

Great sturdy safe and easy to use. The box that is was delivered in, had handles so easy to carry another person. One thing they don’t tell you is that it doesn’t come with the 4 AA batteries that it requires.

Some high-end safes come with built-in dehumidifiers, but for most, you’ll need to buy one separately. A simple rechargeable silica gel pack can make a huge difference in keeping your valuables in top condition. Most people focus only on fireproofing and security, but protecting items from moisture damage is just as important for long-term storage. Overall, this is a great safe for home use at a reasonable price. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable way to protect their important items.

I am quite pleased with my safe. It appears to be well made and of good quality. I had a little difficulty programming my codes into the digital lock, but finally succeeded. It is a relatively small safe, but just what I needed.

Received as a christmas gift. Was easy to set up and looks decent, using it as side table as well. I realize the biggest negative is that a burgler can fairly easily transport it out of our house rather than try and break in. It does come with bolts but I can't use them where we put it. A cheap protection I use is a alarming door jam which I put inside. When somebody is stealing this it will alarm when jostled. At least the burgler will have to walk out with a alarming safe and hopefully the neighbors will notice. Also, I don't know if it will keep documents from burning very long so I added fireproof document holders.

The package was delivered in a thick cardboard box and the safe was received in a good condition. I like the box with handles for easy movement. The safe is sturdy and fireproof. I have also tested both physical and digital keys for a few of weeks and they worked well.

So I got this fireproof safe. Originally, I was looking for one that was fireproof and waterproof. T hen I remembered… I live in a place where rain is basically a rumor. We’re always in a drought. The only “body of water” near my house is my bathtub. Sure, a pipe could burst and flood my house, but if that happens, I’m probably not sprinting to my safe to rescue my important stuff before it turns into papier-mâché. So yeah, fireproof felt like the bigger priority. Is it actually fireproof? No idea. And I hope I never find out. It arrived well-packaged. Heavy enough that I needed another person to help me get it out of the box and into place. Inside, it’s got this… distinct smell. Not horrible, but don’t store clothes unless you want them smelling like “new safe.” You could air it out, toss in an air freshener, or just embrace it like I did. The shelves are adjustable, which is nice. And I feel confident it’ll keep nosy people in the house from poking around my important stuff, like paperwork, a pew-pew, or other things I don’t want accidentally tossed out. Let’s be clear: it’s not stopping a determined thief. Two people, or one CrossFit enthusiast, could probably carry it away. The keypad is cool, but the buttons are small. At night, in an emergency, I’d probably fumble the code like I’m trying to unlock my phone with greasy fingers. If speed matters for whatever's inside, you might want a different setup. Overall? Sturdy, well-built, and works as intended just don’t expect it to be impenetrable. This is “keep things safe from roommates and kids” secure, not “survive a heist movie” secure.

I am upset that the box is not attached like the 2 cubic safe. I need a safe that combines the 2.0 cubic safe that has built in double locked area with the 5.0 cubic floor mounted safe. How disappointing. I will be returning both safes, and my hunt will continue
