One Smile [Cindy McKinley, Mary Gregg Byrne] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. One Smile Review: Book about Kindness - I have read this to every class I have ever taught!! It is a story of “paying it forward”. It is so heartwarming when a child figures out the pattern in the story and can see what will happen in the end. Beautiful story with lovely illustrations. Review: My favorite - I write children's books, but this book is still one of my favorites. It literally brings tears everytime I read it to a little one. I had another copy, years ago that was destroyed in a "flood," so when I came across [it's remains] recently, I decided it needed to be replaced, as one of Grandma's favorites -- that will be here when I'm going, and hopefully the wonderful message that he world so desperately needs to hear.

One Smile can make the difference in other people's lives!
Very nice book with beautiful water color illustrations, and a story tells the giving-forward impact one smile can make! Great character building lesson for your child or students.

Good message
Illustrations were just ok, looked very dull and old fashioned (turns out the book was from 1968!). The story reminded me of Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed... which, frankly, I prefer over this book. But it's a GREAT message, so I'll keep the book in rotation for my daughter's library.

It is more blessed, to give than to receive.
This book is a must read for everyone. As an educator I find this book very useful and engaging for my Kindergarten students. It teaches valuable lessons for children and adults. By starting an act of kindness, one can starts a chain reaction that helps to bless the lives of others. If everyone could just show a little kindness, this world would be a better place. Kindness comes in large and small packages. One little girl's act of kindness; a smile made a whole lot of difference in the life of a man. Buy the book today and begin your journey of kindness and watch what will happen.

One Smile can make a HUGE difference
My seven-year-old granddaughter brought this book home from the school Library. We read it together with her little brother, age 5. This lovely book not only inspired us to do something nice for someone who might need a lift (we drew pictures and wrote notes and sent them to elderly relatives); it made all three of us cry "happy" tears. What a beautiful and important message ONE SMILE delivers. I knew we had to have a copy of our own; and we read and enjoy it over and over again. I highly recommend ONE SMILE for every age. It will do your heart good.

Smile at Someone Today!
A warm smile when you're feeling down works wonders. A little girl's friendly smile starts the pay-it-forward story of how a tiny act of kindness can work wonders throughout a community. Each character is affected by the actions of someone who has been influenced by someone else's small act, and the tale cycles back on itself in a satisfying way. My class of 1st and 2nd graders got the message loud and clear and have often referred back to One Smile when we have encountered similar situations in other books. Read the book and try smiling broadly at the next person you meet; it really works!
