I looked for days to try and pick the right magnifying lamp for me. I mostly need it for my nails and sewing. This is why I narrowed it down to one that could be a table top as well as have a clamp for next to my sewing machine. I also wanted the flexible gooseneck. I was hoping for a rectangular head but these other parameters were not found with it, so I settled for a round glass head. I read on this where some people were not happy with the balance but I have not found that to be an issue. The base itself is over 1 lb heavy and if you look in the connecting hole, you will see it has a stone disc inside. I have moved the neck high and low and not had a problem with the base not staying put. The magnifying head is 5 inches diameter with the glass magnifier being about 3 1/2. I do wish it could have been larger by about an inch but I'm making due. It has a longer neck than others by about an inch. I like how the control for the lights is at the base of the neck and not on a part of the power cord so it is always right within reach. The buttons are self intuitive and very easy. It gives a light feature of warm, cool, bright and in various strengths so whatever you are working on or the room environment, you can find a setting that suits you. I went with a 10X magnifying which I believe is less on your eye/brain strain than one that is larger. If the glass were larger you definitely wouldn't want it more powerful. I like the lamp so far very much and have high hopes for longevity.

Needed a light that clamped to my very small desk and this did the trick! Best part is the magnifying glass, which works well with the different lighting settings mounted right on the base. Loved it so much I’ve bought four more as gifts and everybody I’ve given this light to, loves it!! Great value too!

I use this lamp in my shop for detail work that I just can not see without help. It has been a great addition and well worth the money. One of the features I really like is the ability to adjust the color of the light. I can make the lamp color slightly different from the room color and it just makes things even easier to see. The lamp is powered by USB. The cord is about 3 feet long. You can purchase a USB extension cable if you need it to be longer. The nice thing about this feature is I can take the lamp to places that do not have AC power. I powered this from a cigarette lighter USB socket in my car with a 6 foot extension cord and it worked great. The glass is decent quality for what I need it for: soldering or fine cutting with a hobby knife. I purchased another lamp with 10x magnification and found it had too much distortion. This lamp has 5x magnification and it is just right. You will need to bring things that you want to work on to within a few inches of the glass to have it be in focus. My photos show the focus of a machinist rule both in and outside of the glass. Having the clamping and stand mounting methods is a nice feature. I initially used the stand and found that it took 2 hands to make an adjustment to the lens location; One hand to hold the base and one to move the glass. Not a big deal because the glass always stayed in place after I was finished moving it. In the end I found that the clamp just worked better for me because it took up less table space. Great to have options. Overall I like the lamp and think it is a good value for home use. If you are in need of your first magnifying lamp, this is good choice.

unit's base is not as sturdy as my old lamp that finally failed after 7 years, I do like the 2 different options for mounting the lamp. the lenght of the neck is a little short also but probably due to base not as heavy as old style lamp this one tips over if extend it too far from base. the bottom of lamp neck that attaches to base is also made of plastic and could be a failure point in future. the lamp intensity setting are better than old lamp and lights are diffused much better lending to better pictur taking of objects iluminated by lamp. overall well worth the price and if it last as long as old lamp. may be better since lighting is superior. , the magnifying glass is same size and power as old so usability of this lamp slightly better.

I use this for fly tying. A big help. Economical and bright. I like the fact it has clamp and base options. I use the clamp myself.

Love the sleekness of the design as it adds to the functionality of it and not just the aesthetics. It is not bulky. Love how you can opt to clamp it to a table, or put it in the tabletop mount that it comes with. The light is a bright white that does not get hot, which makes it a great lamp when doing any sort of work that requires a good light. The brightness adjustment is very subtle as you dim or increase it- so you can get it just where you want it without a jump in lighting quality. The magnifying glass is also excellent; clear and high quality. I purchased the 5x and it is beyond my expectations while doing needle work. The clamp is strong, because you turn clamp it in place, rather than clipping it. The flexible neck is also very good for table work- you can bend to any height you need without a problem. It is a plug-in so this is far from a travel light if you are looking for something with a battery. I do wish it came with a longer cord, but it is nothing an extension cord can’t fix. I highly recommend this product as it is better all around than a highly sought after brand on the market- one that I own and will now probably donate.

Love this light, the fact that the neck can be adjusted as well the light level depending on your needs. I used it mainly when I’m working with my stamp collection for the brightness and adjustment capabilities. The magnifying glass also comes in quite handy. Will surely purchase again if needed.

Sooo glad that I bought this light for my new desk set up! Great size and value. Very stable. There’s enough weight in the base that it doesn’t fall over. I really like how many levels of brightness it has and how you can adjust the color of the light. The magnifying glass is perfect for working on crafts and fine detail work. Would definitely buy again! In fact, my sister saw it at my house and liked it so much that she bought one too!

Magnifying glass too small for me, not flexible enough for hand sewing, but good strong light.

Compré esto solo por la linterna, ya que se puede cambiar el color y la intecidad. Pero descubierto que la lupa funciona bien para realizar manulidad con cuentas pequeñas ya que no forzo tanto la vista. La uso con la base ya que mi escritorio no es apto para utilizar la pinza. Me gustaria que el cuello fuera más flexible. El material es muy bueno, al tacto se siente robusto.
